What does it mean? It is a place where different animals live. I think our school has some features of a zoo because two dogs, yulia and vampir, lived in our school, like at home. On the one hand they were animals living in school, on the other hand we felt like animals living in the zoo because of such strict rules.

Dear Friends, I’d like to present a booklet with a project called “Golden Journal”. It contains the most interesting articles the 9B students have chosen for publication from their journals. They started writing journals four years ago, in a year 2000 when they came to the sixth grade. They are unique kids, I must say! I’ve been teaching them for almost seven years and can’t help admiring their invariable wish to study English although they are always disturbed by other stuff in their famous grade. First they were eighteen. Every year two or three students left for other cities or countries or moved to other schools. Finally they are eleven and all of them are going to the tenth grade. When they started the project they were told that the main things in their articles were the way they wrote, and thought, and expressed their original ideas, not grammar mistakes. They grow with their journals, you may notice this gradation. While writing the articles they learned how to do it in the best way – that is the ultimate aim I wanted them to gain. I’d like to thank you all for your diligence, accuracy (not always), patience and work done to type the material. With hope for further cooperation,

Iryna los’ An Importance of Languages In Modern Europe

The language is very important in our life. If we know the language we can get a job or education abroad, can understand the words of foreign songs. If you know a foreign language you can read many interesting books in original. And of course you can communicate with teens from the English-speaking countries. Of course old people go to the other countries but they want to live quietly their life. But young people want to go abroad, they want to have fun, they want to communicate, they want to be happy, to be rich, but for this they must know the language. The language is our life. If the language doesn’t exist, the life on the Earth doesn’t exist too. I think the language is a pleasure. And I want to know the language very well.

English: My Hopes and Expectations

English is one of my favorite lessons. It helps me to speak to different people from different countries. We have only three lessons of English, but one more lesson we had last year that gave us an opportunity to study America, that was useful for us, now it is impossible.

Well, our book ‘Headway’ is great. It has different articles to read and to translate, and grammar to speak and to write.

Like every pupil I have my own hopes and expectations. I hope we will make some more dialogues, quizzes, questionnaires, competitions. I hope all students will take part in making dialogues and will have costumes. I expect we will have our traditional contests: American Studies, Phonetic and Spelling contests. On Spelling contest I hope we will have more than 25 or 30 words, because it isn’t very exciting, more exciting was when we wrote 50 words and wrote the translation of 50 words. That was a real huge competition. And it is better to know how to write 50 difficult words than 20.

Phonetic contest develops our speech, helps us to learn how to pronounce the words and how to show our fillings while reciting the poem. And this competition develops our drama abilities, helps us to be braver and fight with our shyness, because the jury is also in the class, when we recite a poem.

American Studies lessons gave us an opportunity to learn the history, the culture, holidays and traditions, symbols of America, to know more information about different things.

These three aspects I hope we will have this year, because they make our English lessons more interesting and more useful. I also expect that our traditional final ceremony will take place in the end of every school year, and our newspaper and ‘new discoveries’ group will have success.
