Future tenses
THE FUTURE INDEFINITE
(FUTURE SIMPLE)
TENSE
I, we shall do
He, she, it, you, they will do
I shall give you a call in the evening.
They will come in a few days.
He will graduate from the university next year.
We shall dine out tonight.
I’ll have classes on Saturday next month.
She’ll pass her exams in two weeks.
They’ll take a taxi if they are late.
tomorrow You will be able to speak to him tomorrow.
next week Next week I shall start a new job.
next year We’ll go to Egypt next year.
in a week In a week they’ll go to the country.
in a few days The weather will become better in a few days.
one of these days One of these days she’ll come to visit us.
She will take her English lessons twice a week next month.
In summer we’ll go out of town every week–end.
In May I’ll be in Kiev and I’ll come to see you for sure.
3. The Future Indefinite не употребляется в придаточных предложениях времени и условия после союзов when и if и др.
When I have my holidays I’ll see my friends more often.
If they are not busy, they will help you with your report.
I’m thirsty. I think I will make some tea.
– You’ve left your computer on. – Oh, I’ll go and switch it off.
I don’t think I’ll do any work tonight. I’m too tired.
I’ll have the ham salad and some orange juice, please.
– I’ll peel the potatoes. – Oh, thank you.
– I’ll wait for you if you like. – Oh, thanks. I won’t be long.
– Will you come to lunch? – Thank you, I’d love to.
– Will you join us for coffee? – Yes, thanks.
I’ll pay you back next week.
You’ll regret your rude words!
