Multimedia is the field concerned with the computer-controlled integration of text, graphics, drawings, still and moving images, animation, audio. Multimedia is usually recorded and played, displayed or accessed by computerized and electronic devices. Much of the content on the web today falls within this definition. Multimedia comes in many different formats. On the Internet you will find many of these elements embedded in web pages, and today's web browsers have support for a number of multimedia formats.
Multimedia finds its application in various areas including advertisements, art, education, entertainment, engineering, medicine, mathematics, business, scientific research.
Exciting presentations are used to keep attention in advertising. Multimedia is popular in the entertainment industry, it helps to develop special effects in movies and animations. Multimedia games is a hobby for many people and software programs are available either as CD-ROMs or online.
Interactive Multimedia applications allow users to actively participate instead of being passive recipients of information. In education, multimedia is also very effective, as some training courses are based on it. In medicine doctors can get trained by looking at a virtual surgery or they can simulate how the human body is affected by diseases spread by viruses and bacteria and then develop techniques to prevent it.

Svetlana:Do you really like it? It is too boring.

Svetlana:I am fond of programs about travelling to different countries. My dream is to go abroad some day. I also like the shows “Intuition” and “Comedy club”, they are very funny. My younger sister prefers comedy soap-operas. My parents like detectives. I think nobody can imagine one’s life without TV. There are various scientific, informative, educational and entertaining programs, quizzes and shows, programs for children, films and soap-operas on TV. It is easy to find programs for all the interests.
Helen:Due to the television people are informed about current events both national and international, the latest achievements in science and culture. I watch the latest news every evening.
Svetlana:I don’t always like it. Sometimes it is better to watch clips on MTV.
Helen: But on this channel there is not very much music. TV advertisements are broadcast so often, and it can be annoying.
