Days of the Week

These are seven days in a week. The first day of the week is Sunday. The last day of the week is Saturday. The other days of the week, between Sunday and Sa­turday, are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Monday is the second day, Tuesday is the third day, Wednesday is the fourth day, Thursday is the fifth day, and Friday is the sixth day, Saturday is the seventh day, the last day.

There are three hundred and sixty-five days in a year.

Seasons

There are four seasons in a year. They are spring, summer, autumn and winter. Every season has three months.

The spring months are: March, April and May in Match the days become longer, the son shines more brightly. The nature awakens from its long winter sleep. In May the trees become green.

Summer is the hottest season of the year. The weather is fine, the sun shines brightly. I like summer very much. In summer I have my holidays and I spend a lot of time in the open air. Summer is the best season for different sports. We can swim and bathe, we can play tennis and football. We enjoy our holidays if the weather is fine.

After summer comes autumn. September is the first autumn month. The weather is still warm. Everything looks very beautiful. The leaves change colour, they are red and yellow. Every autumn is the harvest time. In October it often rains. The weather gets colder and colder and then winter comes.

Russian winter is famous for its sunny frosty days. There is much snow on the ground. The rivers and lakes are covered with ice. It gets dark early in the evening. In winter we have the shortest days and the longest nights. I like winter sports very much. It is so pleasant to skate and ski on a frosty winter day.

Different Lives – Different Dreams

Bob Kash is a pop star. He is very rich and famous. His house is large and expensive, and there is a swimming-pool in the garden. There are ten bedrooms in the house. Bob’s car is American. It’s a 2007 Lincoln Continental. It’s fast and comfortable. In this car there is a radio, a cocktail cabinet, electric windows, air bags, climate control systems, condition. But Bob isn’t happy. He’d like a Rolls-Royce.

Mr. Wilson is a teacher. He isn’t famous and rich. Mr. Wilson’s car’s English. It’s a 1989 Mini. It’s slow and uncomfortable. There is an engine, a steering-wheel, and there are four wheels and two doors. But Mr. Wilson is quite happy with his life.
