TEXT A
Choosing a Profession.
Choosing the right profession is very important. Most of us spend a great part of our lives at our jobs. For that reason we should try to find out what our capabilities are and how we can use them. We can do this through aptitude tests, interviews with specialists, and consulting reference books on the subjects that interest us.
When young people finish school, they always think about their future life. There are many professions open to each of us. If you like science, you can prepare yourself to be a chemist, a physicist or a biologist. Maybe your interests take you into the business world and into such work as accounting, personnel management or public relations. Many people find their place in government service, others prefer to do their own business.
As for me I want to become an economist. Economics is the science which is based upon the facts of our everyday lives. Economics study our everyday lives. They study the system which affects our lives. They try to describe the facts of the economy in which we live and to explain how the system works. The science of economics is concerned with all our material needs and wants.
Answer the following questions:
1 Is it very important to choose the right profession?
2 Is it easy to do?
3 What professions can the young people choose?
4 How can we choose a profession?
5 What is economics?
6 What is it based upon?
