9. Разделительные вопросы (Tag questions)
Разделительный вопрос (вопрос с «хвостиком») представ-
ляет собой утвердительное или отрицательное предложение,
состоящее из двух частей, разделенных между собой запятой. Первая часть – это, непосредственно само предложение,
вторая – краткий общий вопрос, который на русский язык
мы переводим как «не так ли \ не правда ли?». Давайте рассмотрим, как строится краткий вопрос («хвостик»).
Если предложение утвердительное, то краткий вопрос
будет отрицательным.

10. Согласование времен
(Sequence of Tenses)
Характерной особенностью английского языка является
правило согласования времен. Оно состоит в том, что время
глагола-сказуемого придаточного предложения зависит от
времени глагола-сказуемого главного предложения. Это правило касается, в основном, дополнительных придаточных
предложений, однако затрагивает и другие придаточные.
Основное правило согласования времен
если глагол-сказуемое в главном предложении стоит в
одном из прошедших времен, то и глагол-сказуемое придаточного предложения должен стоять только в одном из прошедших времен.
