(Conditional Sentences)
Условные предложения в английском языке состоят из
двух частей: главное предложение (выражает следствие, ре­зультат) и придаточное предложение (содержит условие -if).
В английском языке имеются условные предложения ну-
левого, I, II, III типов которые вводятся:
if если even if если бы (только) only if даже если in case в случае, если suppose (that) предположим, что on condition (that) при условии, что provided (that) при условии, что providing(that) при условии, что unless (if…not) если … не (имеет отрицательное
значение)
so/as long as пока, столько … сколько otherwise иначе, по-другому or else иначе

Подобная расстановка времен встречается и в придаточ­ных предложениях времени, вводимых союзами:
when когда after после того как before прежде чем as soon as как только until, till пока не, до тех пор пока

Нулевой тип условных предложений (zero conditionals)
Употребление
1. Когда речь идет об общеизвестных истинах и научных фактах.
2. Когда речь идет о привычках или о действиях, которые повторяются снова и снова.

II тип условных предложений
Употребление
Эти предложения выражают невероят­ные или маловероят­ные предположения. Они относятся к настоящему или бу­дущему времени.

В условных предложениях второго типа глагол to be упо-
требляется в форме сослагательного наклонения were был бы, была бы, были бы для всех лиц единственного и множе­ственного числа.
If he were free today, we could go to the country.
Если бы он был свободен сегодня, мы бы смогли поехать
за город.
Примечание:
В разговорной речи и в American English возможен вари­ант употребления глагола to be в форме was.
III тип условных предложений
Употребление
Эти предложения выражают предпо­ложения, относя­щиеся к прошлому времени и явля­ющиеся поэтому невыполнимыми, нереальными.
