together. Then he added that there was a little hole in
the right boot.
Carol said that she knew about it. Then she wanted to know
if he could manage to put the patch from the inside.
The shoemaker answered that he could. Then he prom
ised Carol that it wouldn’t hurt her toes.

At the Tailor’s
The tailor asked Mrs. Brown what she could do for her.
Mrs. Brown answered that she wanted to order a dress.
The tailor wanted to know if she wanted to have it made
of her own material.
Mrs. Brown wanted to see what they had.
The tailor wondered what colour of material she preferred.
Mrs. Brown said that her favourite colour was light green.
The tailor told her that there was a piece just the kind she
wanted.
Mrs. Brown said that she liked it. Then she asked the tai
lor if they had the latest designs.
The tailor offered her to look through one magazine. She
remarked that Mrs. Brown could choose any model of
dress she liked.
The tailor asked Mrs. Brown if she wanted to have her
measures taken then.
Mrs. Brown agreed.
Then she wanted to know how long it would take to have
it ready.
The tailor answered that her dress would be ready ten days
later.
