тканях, способно защитить их от случайных и кратковременных температурных колебаний. Кроме того, уменьшение уровня насыщенности мембранных липидов, вызывающее повышение чувствительности к действию УФ и увеличение вследствие этого уровня свободных радикалов, имеющих более пролонгированный период жизни в этих условиях (ChalkerScott, 1999), может быть компенсировано увеличением содержания антоцианинов в эпидермальных слоях растительных тканей.

Впоследнее время исследованы различные аспекты действия экологических факторов на накопление антоциановых пигментов в растениях. Наиболее изучен свет, температура, минеральное питание, действие химических веществ и поллютантов, а также периоды интенсивного роста и старения, сопровождающиеся образованием антоциановых пигментов. Известно, что и уровень АФК повышается в этих условиях. Способность антоцианов нейтрализовывать АФК по типу, сходному с α-токоферолом и каротиноидами, позволяет им функционировать как эндогенным антиоксидантам, уменьшающим их токсичность, и наравне конкурировать с супероксиддисмутазой, дополняя или компенсируя недостаток таких эндогенных антиоксидантов, как глютатион, флавонолы или АК, выступаяв качестве донораэлектроновдля пероксидазнойреакции.
Возможно, усиление накопления антоцианов — адаптивная стадия развития растительного организма, включенная в механизм защиты растений от неблагоприятных условий среды и способствующая приобретению неспецифической устойчивости под воздействием стресс-фактора. Почему антоцианины синтезируются взамен бесцветных и более эффективных флавоноидных предшественников — остается не вполне ясным. Возможно, антоциановые пигменты являются более эффективными фотопротективными водорастворимыми соединениями, которые в противоположность другим флавоноидам почти всегда гликозилированы, что, вероятно, и позволяет им

быть более эффективными в выполнении своих функций, находясь в вакуолярном резерве.
Так или иначе, антоцианы могут действовать совместно с другими, более эффективными протективными молекулами в растительной клетке, возмещая их дефицит в течение действия ряда стрессовых факторов.
Это, в свою очередь, позволяет рассматривать эндогенный уровень антоцианов в качестве индикатора состояния растений на молекулярно-генетическом, клеточном, организменном и популяционном уровнях и использовать их содержание как тест, диагностирующий воздействие различных поллютантов, нефти, ТМ на состояние растений и растительных сообществ на самых ранних этапах.
