Grammar Note

The Absolute Infinitive Construction (самостоятельный инфинитивный оборот) consists of a noun in the common case and an infinitive and is often used in modern English legal context. Though formally independent of the sentence, being usually put in the final part of the sentence, the Absolute Infinitive Construction is a logical adverbial modifier of time, cause, condition and is rendered in Russian by means of an adverbial clause (with the conjunction «причем»).

The infinitive in Absolute Infinitive Constructions usually expresses strong modality and denotes legally-binding actions (recommended, forbidden, preventive, etc.)
