1. In pairs: identify the types of pictures you see on this spread. The information below
might help you:

4. You are going to hear 5 people talking about the pictures they have in their homes and their preferences in art. Try to identify what picture from the ones in front of you they are talking about. What motivated their choice? Before you listen make
sure you know this vocabulary: 1. to go for sth, an advert, a seagull, a slogan, 2. to reckon, to match sth, 3. texture, mediocre, 4. to go in for sth, a collage, a damp patch, a cookery book.
Listening: a Junk Shop
1. Listen to the conversation and put down all the main events. Before
you listen make sure you know this vocabulary: a signature, Constable, fifty quid, a van, on one‘s own, a fair price, there is no market for sth, a frame, to wrap sth.
2. Is any of the antique dealers in this story an honest one? Why not? 3. Write a summary of the story in the third person.
