3. Методи дослідження в сучасній методиці навчання

Methods of investigation have the aim of getting scientific data

about the regularity of the process of learning foreign languages,

effectiveness of teaching materials, ways and form of education.

Scientific research begins with the definition of the problem, aim

, tasks.Modern methods of trading have main and subsidiary methods

of investigation.The main methods are:

Critical analysis of literary sources;

Learning the positive experience of work of the teachers who grained

good results in education;

Scientific observation;

Test teaching;

Experiment;

Experimental teaching.

Subsidiary methods:

Interview;

Questionnaire

Testing;

Talk;

Methods of experts, etc.

Experiment has special meaning for the investigator. We can define

general and special regularities in teaching foreign languages.

Experiment is connected with hypothesis. Kinds of experiment:

Basic experiment or investigating;

Natural or laboratory;

One serial or multi serial;

One factor or multi factors;

Direct or crossed.

Experiment has four steps:

1 stage – the organization of experiment;

2 stage – the realization of experiment;

3 stage – statement;

4 stage – interpretation.

In order to understand a language and to express oneself correctly one must assimilate the grammar mechanism of the language studied. Indeed, one may know all the words in sentence and yet tail to understand it if he does not see the relationship between the words in the given sentence. And vice versa, in a sentence way contain one, two and were unknown words but if one has a good

knowledge of a structure of the language one can easily guess the meaning of these words. It is impossible to understand the meaning of such sentence without grammar knowledge: We saw him book a ticket, or

It made me return home. It made me happy, because these sentences contain Infinitive Construction and an unusual meaning of the familiar words “book” and “make”. No speaking is possible without the knowledge of grammar mechanism. If a learner has acquired such a mechanism, he can produce correct sentences in a foreign language. A command of England as is envisaged by the school syllabry

cannot be ensured without the study of grammar. Pupils need grammar to be able to speak read and write in the target language.

6. Способи систематизації нових лексичних одиниць

Retention of words. Pupils must perform various exercises

  1. to fill the words in their memory. Constant use of a new

  2. word is the best way of learning it. These exist two groups

  3. of exercises:

  • 1 group – exercises designed for developing pupils skills

  • in choosing the proper word;

  • 2 group – exercises designed a form pupils skills in using

  • the word in sentence /Rogova p. 129-130/

2.Activity in using the vocabulary in the process of communication in

different situations.

Types of exercises:

  1. Answer the questions;

  2. Agree with me if, I’m right;

  3. Correct me, if I’m not right;

  4. Complete my statements;

  5. Tell the class about your favourite book…;

  6. Ask each other about books you like…;

  7. Write a note to a class-mate about your favourite book;

For the formation of potential vocabulary you may use such exercises:

  1. Fill in the blanks while reading;

  2. Choose the meaning of a word;

  3. Define the meaning of word;

  4. Choose the key words;

  5. Choose the words which express positive or negative characteristics;

  6. Find equivalents to the international words in your mother tongue;

  7. Define the meaning of unknown compound words (snowman, mankind);

  8. Define the meaning of the derivatives (helpless);

  9. Guess the meaning of the word (It was hot. I wanted to drink. I was thirsty).
