1. Высказывания, содержащие однородные члены предложения

При переводе однородных членов следует обращать внимание на то, что однородные члены английского языка в переводе на русский язык часто оказываются логически несовместимыми. Поэтому переводчику следует в таких случаях прибегать к трансформациям, лексическим или грамматическим. Иногда один из однородных членов приходится переводить группой слов. Например:

It was a little store on grove Street in the slums. The people who came to the store were all interesting and poor.

Это была лавочка на Гроув стрит в районе трущоб. Все покупатели были бедные люди, но зато очень интересные.

Совершенно очевидно, что перевести эти однородные члены как бедные и интересные или бедные, но интересные было бы не правильно.
