Unit 1
Text A. About Myself
Hello, my name is Alexander. I am 17 years old. I am a student of economics at the Russian State University. I liked Mathematics, Physics and History at school. I also liked to read biographies of famous economists and businessmen. I always wanted to be an economist, like my father. I entered the Department of Economics because I wanted to know how world economy works and to understand the world of business. I like my studies a lot now. I would like to start my own business after I finish the university. I am planning to work in the publishing or real estate business.
Hello everyone. My name is John. I am English. Both my parents are from Liverpool. They are accountants. I don't want to be an accountant. I think it is a boring job. I would like to work in a large international corporation. I would like to travel a lot and learn different languages. I study in London. I study economics at the University of Westminster, in the heart of central London. I rent a flat in the city centre; it is very expensive. I have to work in the evenings and on the weekends. I work as a waiter at a restaurant.
Hello, I am Alison. I am a first-year student at the College of Business Administration at Florida International University, USA. I am 25. I worked as a sales representative in a small firm before. I have enough money for college now. My university has a great reputation. Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Miami will be very important for my career. I also want to stay and live in Florida. I love sunny weather and sandy beaches. I like dancing too.
