IMPORTANCE OF JOURNALISM
Journalism is a crucial aspect of modern society that plays a significant role in
providing people with necessary information. It is an essential tool for
communication, education, and entertainment.
Journalism has always been an integral part of society, but its importance has
grown significantly in recent years. Today people depend upon the press on being
instructed in regards to what’s happening. A high-level paper is a storage space of
current information, an instrument of public examination, a general appraisal creator.
That makes the journalists professional work so important for helping people
understand complex issues and make sense of the world around them.
Journalists play a vital role in scrutinizing facts and uncovering the truth. They
are the gatekeepers of information, and they have a responsibility to provide accurate
and reliable information to the public.
Journalism examines and reveals current world issues that incorporate style
patterns, political or general issues, and occasions to a wide crowd. Journalism is for
the voice of a voiceless’- communicating assessments of every one of those in our
general public. It resembles a scaffold between the specialists and individuals.
According to The Society of Professional Journalists’ records there are four
principles by which all journalists should stand:
Look for reality and report it
Limit hindrance
Act autonomously
Be responsible and straightforward
Journalists must give a reasonable assessment since they are focused on finding
reality and introducing it to people in general. Journalists are expected to provide a

fair opinion because they are committed to finding the truth and presenting it to the
public.
A journalist must possess the following professional characteristics and fulfill
the duties:
- promote transparency by holding those in power accountable. They must
investigate and report on issues that affect the public, including political
corruption, environmental disasters, and social injustice;
- preserve democracy: without a free press citizens would not have access to
the information they need to make informed decisions;
- foster public debate by providing a platform for different voices and
perspectives;
- educating the public: to provide people with information about current
events, science, culture, and more.
Journalism is a crucial aspect of modern society that plays a significant role
in providing people with necessary information. Without journalism, our society
would be less informed, less democratic, and less transparent. Society needs to
trust that the information it receives is accurate and reliable and the sacred mission
of a journalist is to do everything for it to be so.

NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF TECHNOLOGY
ON MODERN JOURNALISM
Positive changes caused by the sphere of technology on journalism is
undeniable. Digital media has revolutionized the field of journalism, transforming
how news is gathered, reported, and consumed.
Along with these advancements, technology has also brought about challenges
for journalism. The rise of fake news and misinformation has become a serious
concern. With the ease of publishing content online, anyone can disseminate false or
misleading information, leading to a loss of trust in the media.
The rise of social media has created new challenges for journalists, including the
spread of fake news. On social media, false information may spread quickly and
would become challenging to dispel once it has fanned out.
Technology has also created new challenges and opportunities for journalists,
such as ethical dilemmas, competition, audience fragmentation, misinformation, and
innovation. Even while technological advancements could seem to be seamlessly
incorporated into the news-producing process, conflicts arise because of numerous
worries about how technology will affect morality, job security, and information
integrity.
AI is starting to make its manner transversally into the news production method
and into the structure and functioning of the media, among them there are many
negative impacts.
Robotics journalism is synonymous with automated journalism. Robot
journalism and automated journalism or even machine-written journalism are used in
the same sense (Anderson, 2012; Carlson, 2014). AI can generate news information
from structured data and automatically deliver them. Typically, like football matches,
it takes even the fastest journalists 5-10 minutes to write and deliver them, but AI
only takes a few seconds to produce news as well as post articles to ensure the
hotness of the news. Not only that, but AI can also produce news from all aspects of
life, including information with content that completely contradicts the general
judgments of society […]It is dangerous and shivery to unfold these fully untrue
articles to the society, they'll build the society intoxicated, creating access to official
data difficult.
More than automatic writing was used more in journalism, the phrase "AI
journalist" or "robot journalist" began to appear. And whether the technology
threatens the employment of humans (Van Dalen 2012).
The use of AI threatens natural humans creativity.) Automatic writing is unable
to effectively employ linguistic nuances, such as humor, irony, and metaphors, which
are important in more complex storytelling. As a result, auto-written stories
frequently sound technical, uninteresting, and unreadable (Latar 2015). On the other
hand, human reporters can craft nuanced, imaginative, and contextualized tales drawn

from various sources. As a result, it will be troublesome for the journalist to make
breakthrough ideas which will gradually lose the inventive desire.
In conclusion, technology has had a profound impact on modern journalism,
bringing both opportunities and challenges. While it has enabled real-time reporting,
increased accessibility, and citizen journalism, it has also raised concerns about the
spread of fake news and the financial sustainability of traditional news outlets.

Technology has had an immense impact on modern journalism, revolutionizing
the way news is gathered, reported, and consumed. Digital platforms have brought
about significant changes in the industry, allowing for real-time reporting, increased
accessibility, and the emergence of citizen journalism.
Technology has improved the speed, accuracy, diversity, and interactivity of
journalism by enabling new forms of reporting, communication, and distribution.
Technology has transformed the role of journalists from being mere gatekeepers of
information to being participants in the public sphere. The Internet has made
publishing and accessing news easier and cheaper than any form of communication.
It also provides access to news through articles, pictures, and videos. Social media the newest and most popular form of sharing and receiving news in society. Through
international telecommunications networks with broadband capabilities, wireless
communication, and constant connectivity, the Internet and other digital networks
have altered the newsroom.
Changes in technology have an impact on journalism in at least four key areas:
1) the methods used by journalists; 2) the news’s content; 3) the newsroom’s layout
or organization; and 4) the interactions between or among news organizations,
journalists, and their various audiences.
One of the most notable effects of technology on journalism is the speed at
which news can now be reported. With the ability to access information from around
the world instantly, journalists can provide up-to-the-minute coverage of events as
they unfold. This real-time reporting has become especially crucial in situations

where immediate information is vital, such as during natural disasters or breaking
news events.
Robots and AI can also be incorporated into the manufacturing and distribution
processes of news organizations to increase the efficiency of publishing news articles
and optimizing a medium’s reach.
Digital tools enable journalists to analyze complex datasets and uncover hidden
patterns, creating impactful stories. Tools like data visualization and analytics
software empower reporters to present facts in visually engaging formats. This
approach enhances transparency and credibility.
Unlike traditional media, digital platforms allow two-way communication

articles, fostering a sense of community. This feedback loop enables journalists to
understand their audience’s preferences and improve content accordingly.
