Journalistic Interview
It is a type of dialogue that is established between two or more people, directed by the person who takes the role of the interviewer, who is mainly in charge of formulating the questions and conducting the conversation. A large part of the process will depend on his or her activity. He should ask the questions in a natural way and provide a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere in which the interview runs smoothly. The questions asked should be short and express exactly what you want to know so that the interviewee has the opportunity to respond in the same sense.
It is important to distinguish the interview from a conventional or informal conversation. It is focused, in particular, on an interest in knowledge about a specific opinion, experience or information.
In addition to the oral format, it is possible to observe it in written form in different physical media such as newspapers and magazines, mainly, although it is also possible to present it on television, radio and web.
It is necessary to take into account that the journalist must make use of a series of resources that allow him/her to correctly prepare the interview. He can resort to archives, documents, books, magazines, newspapers.
Preparation is perhaps the most important stage. In this section, you can initially choose the person to be interviewed and the topic on which the meeting will be developed. On the other hand, key aspects must be specified at this time, such as the day, place and time of the interview.
It is possible to identify the following types of interview:
Profile interview is an approach to the interviewee’s biography and it is based on a series of documentary sources.
Opinion interview is a type of interview in which the questions are formulated to know the ideological aspects and position in relation to a determined fact, a subject or any other situation.
In interview with the specialist the questions are asked to an expert or specialist in a specific field.
Thus, the journalistic interview is a planned conversation in which, through questions, one gets to know about a person, fact or topic of interest in greater depth.

An Interview: the special features and types.
Although the question-and-answer interview in journalism dates back to the 1850s, the first known interview that fits the matrix of interview-as-genre has been claimed to be the 1756 interview by Archbishop Timothy Gabashvili (1704–1764), prominent Georgian religious figure, diplomat, writer and traveler.
Interviews involve asking questions that reflect the information sought as clearly, yet conversationally, as possible. They require listening to and analyzing answers, while at the same time figuring out what to ask next. Interviewers must be nimble, ready to react in the event an answer results in a change to the direction of the conversation or, more significantly, the article being pursued.
The quality of sources, the depth of the questions, the understanding of the subject, and the ability to transmit that subject information to others are key to successful journalism.
There are some challenges journalist face in communicating conversationally: distractions, like texting while others talk, asking closed questions that require oneword responses, talking about what we know instead of finding out what others know.
While doing interview distracted communication comes from scribbling instead of making eye contact and worrying so much about what question comes next that you fail to hear what your source is saying about the current question.
There are different types of interviews:
Meet-and-greet interview: when a reporter wants to take the time to meet and speak with you in person;
Background interview: when a reporter discusses trends you see in your industry, potential future story ideas and the like;
On-the-record interviews are the most straightforward. They involve questions the reporter seeks answers to, typically for a specific story, and are pretty much a sure bet for being quoted and visible. Sometimes a reporter will provide a list of questions in advance;
Off-the-record interview: reporters are interested in off-the-record interviews
when they are doing initial groundwork for a potential story but don’t yet have
