2. Выражение none of может употребляться в начале пред-
ложения как перед именами существительными, так и перед местоимениями в объектном падеже. Глагол, с ко­торым сочетается местоимение none, употребляется толь­ко в утвердительной форме и может стоять как в един­ственном, так и во множественном числе.
None of the trains go/goes to Oxford.
Ни один из поездов не отправляется в Оксфорд.
None of them come/comes in time.
Никто из них (ни один из них) не приходит вовремя.
3. В середине предложения местоимение none употребляет-
ся для усиления отрицательной мысли.
It’s none of your business. Это не ваше дело. I want none of your advice. Обойдусь без ваших советов.
4. Непосредственно за местоимением none никогда не следу-
ет существительное.
Нельзя сказать:
none parks ни один парк.
Следует говорить:
none of the parks, или there are no parks… .

Other
Местоимение other имеет значение другой, другие,
остальные. Оно употребляется перед существительными
как единственного, так и множественного числа. Перед ме­стоимением other может стоять определенный или неопреде­ленный артикль или отсутствовать артикль в соответствии с правилами употребления артиклей.
1. Another. Неопределенный артикль an пишется с место-
имением other слитно (another). Местоимение another имеет значение другой, еще один и употребляется с су­ществительными только в единственном числе, так как неопределенный артикль a/an всегда указывает на то, что объект один.
They offered him another job.
Они предложили ему другую работу.
Another cup of coffee?
Еще одну чашечку кофе?
2. Another может сочетаться с существительными и во мно-
жественном числе, обозначающими расстояние, время, деньги и т.д как единое целое.
It will take us another four hours to get to the nearest city.
Нам потребуется еще четыре часа, чтобы добраться до
ближайшего города.
3. The other – может употребляться с существительными
как в единственном, так и во множественном числе.
• Конструкция the other + сущ. в едиственном числе в значении другой, конкретный (второй), как единственный из оставшихся, используется тогда, когда речь идет только о двух лицах либо предметах.
There were two plates on the table.
На столе стояли две тарелки.

Выражение the other day переводится как на днях, не-
сколько дней тому назад.
• Конструкция the other + сущ. во множественном чис- ле употребляется в значении другие (конкретные, извест-
ные), остальные.

4. Other
• Конструкция other + сущ. во множественном числе употребляется в значении другие, неизвестные.
Some people like coffee for their lunch, other people prefer
tea or juice.

люди (все остальные вообще) предпочитают чай либо сок.
5. Формы others и the others используются вместо исчисля-
емых существительных во множественном числе в приве­денных выше значениях.
I have seen new models of this company at the exhibition.

Some of them are excellent, but others are not trendy yet.
Некоторые из них отличные, а другие (не конкретные)
уже не модны.

6. Комбинация местоимения some с местоимениями-прила-
гательными other и the other организует последователь- ность однородных членов предложения.
Some leaves are yellow, other leaves are brown, and the

Местоимение one
Неопределенное местоимение one употребляется в следу-
ющих случаях:
1. Как слово-заместитель во избежание повторения раньше
упомянутого имени существительного. В этом значении местоимение one изменяется по числам (one, ones) и в си­туациях, требующих использования определенного арти­кля, встречается во фразах the one, the ones. I liked this car more than that one. Мне понравился этот автомобиль больше, чем тот.
This computer is less expensive than the one we saw at the
exhibition last week.
Этот компьютер менее дорогой, чем тот, который мы ви-
дели на выставке на прошлой неделе.
I have lost my pens and have to buy new ones. Я потерял свои карандаши и вынужден покупать новые.
2. Неопределенное местоимение one часто употребляется в
притяжательной форме. One must do one’s duty. Нужно выполнять свой долг. One sees other people’s faults sooner than one’s own. Ошибки других людей видишь скорее, чем свои.
