Globalization is the word used to describe the growing interdependence
of the world’s economies, cultures, and populations, brought about by
technology and flows of investment, people, and information. Over the past 100 years it’s globalization that has had the greatest impact on the English language. English is a world language now, the dominant language of science, computing and academia in general. But looking back 100 years, to the start of the first world war, it wasn’t so clear that English would be so dominant.
With the globalization of economies over the last two decades, people now can witness significant growth. Business houses and multinational companies are all competing to get a foothold in almost every market. Technological advancements and innovative products and services are shaping the marketplace. The massive young population in certain countries is expressing their wants as consumers and as a workforce. Large numbers of people have a desire to learn English or improve their spoken English in order to create more opportunities for themselves.

globalization argue that it has the potential to make this world a better place to live in and solve some of the deep-seated problems like unemployment and poverty. Most people see speedy travel, mass communications and quick dissemination of information through the Internet as benefits of globalization.
The general complaint about globalization is that jobs are lost and transferred to lower cost countries. Multinational corporations are accused of social injustice, unfair working conditions (including slave labor wages, living and working conditions), as well as lack of concern for environment, mismanagement of natural resources, and ecological damage.
