Your colleague has failed a meeting with your Chinese business partners. You are
discussing the reasons. Role-play the situation using the following information:
you are sure that for the Chinese being on time and meeting deadlines is very
important;
you know that the Chinese like to plan everything in advance and in detail;
though your colleague has learnt to speak Chinese, he/she does not pay any at-
tention to business culture of your partners from another country.
Be polite and tactful but try to convince your partner that these were serious mistakes.

ему порекомендовал агент, который нанимает персонал. Там мой друг указал
своё образование, специализацию, квалификацию и навыки. Он соответствовал
всем требованиям одной компании, и они пригласили его на собеседование.
На собеседовании он рассказал о своих сильных сторонах и опыте работы: недавно его компания открыла новый филиал, где он руководил отделом и
был ответственным за продажи. В этом году, благодаря его работе, компания
увеличила свою долю на рынке. Он правильно использовал возможность задать

you want to know how to prepare for a job interview.

Your partner wants to change his/her present job. Discuss the issue with him/her and
give advice about how to prepare for a job interview. Your partner should:
be ready to tell about his/her work experience;
be ready to tell about his/her strengths and weaknesses clearly but briefly;
decide if he/she is ready to work long hours with tight deadlines etc;
learn as much as possible about the company and the position, be ready to ask
questions;
wear suitable clothes.
You may add up your own ideas about a successful job interview.

You have applied for a job abroad and are going to work in Europe. You are having a
job interview. Use the following information:
the reason of changing job: you want to use your experience and skills in an-

climb the career ladder;
you want to know your potential responsibilities;
you meet all the requirements of the company because you have enough expe-
rience in all the areas of activity that you will be responsible for.

You are interviewing a person who has recently applied for a position in your company. It is his/her first job abroad. You want to know:
why he/she wants to change his/her present job;

what expectations and plans he/she has to improve his experience and skills.
Tell about the responsibilities of the vacant position. He/she should:
