Text 1. CHEMICAL ELEMENTS
All chemical elements are metals and non-metals. For example, gold, silver, copper, iron are metals. Oxygen, hydrogen, helium are gases. Zinc, copper, lead, tin are non-ferrous metals. Gold, silver and platinum are precious metals. Iron and its alloys are ferrous metals. Steel is an alloy of iron and carbon. Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. Bronze is an alloy of copper with other elements like aluminum, tin, lead, etc1.
