I. Read the text.

ТEXT.

Manifest of Cargo is a document which contains complete specifications of the goods loaded by a ship.

Manifest of Cargo is usually drawn up by the agents in the ports of loading, based upon the Bills of Lading.

Manifest of Cargo contains the following data: the name of the ship, port of loading and date of departure, port of destination, number of Bills of Lading, marks of packages and contents names of shippers and consignees, weight of packages, rate of freight per unit, total freight.

MATE’S RECEIPT.

Mate’s Receipt is an official document signed by the Chief Officer which acknowledges the receipt of cargo on board ship. It is exchanged for Bills of Lading when loading is finished.

Bill of Lading is usually issued on collecting all mate's receipts. Cargo-plan or Stowage plan is a document which shows the clear dispo-

sition of each cargo piece on board ship. It shows marks and destination of cargo.

I beg to inform you that damage on cargo loaded is ascertained as per attached cargo damage reports.

I hereby invite you to remove from the vessel the affected cargo and replace same by cargo which is not damaged.

I regret to state that in case the mentioned damaged cargo is not promptly withdrawn we have no alternative than to clause the Bills of Lading with the cargo damage as listed at the attached Cargo Damage Reports.

Kindly acknowledge by signing and returning copy of this letter. Yours faithfully, Master.

If you require to avoid the above remarks kindly arrange to substitute the intended cargo with cargo which is not subject to such remarks.

Please acknowledge receipt of this letter by signing and returning copy of same.

Kindly note that in accordance with the charterparty, the Bills of Lading will be issued in accordance with the Mate's receipts, to this effect I hereby request you to submit the Mate's receipts daily, together with the tally reports, for the Chief officer's perusal and approval.

I also wish to inform you that only the Chief Officer is authorised to sign Mate's receipts, and such Mate's receipts should carry the Chief Officer's signature and the vessel's Official stamp to be considered as valid for the purpose of issuance of the Bills of Lading by the agents of the Charterers.

You are kindly requested to strictly comply with this requirement so that any inconvenience is avoided.
