The fluid drive is employed in the wide range of machinery: various types of loaders, pipelayers, hydraulic cranes, crawler machines, transmissions, hydraulic platforms, hydraulic jaw crushers, turbines, conveyors, hoisting machines, elevators, trucks, tractors, trailers, propeller runners, fixed-blade runners, adjustable blade runners. The adjustable-blade propeller type is a development from the fixed-blade propeller wheel. One of the best known units of this type is the Kaplan unit, in which the blades may be rotated to the most efficient angle by a hydraulic servomotor.
Nowadays, there are several hydraulic component manufactures in the world. We describe the samples of a company in Japan. The largest hydraulic component manufacturer in Japan is Kayaba Industry Co., Ltd. The products of the company are hydrostar low speed/high torque motors, Mag series motors, axial piston motors, multiple stage planetary gear reducers, cylinders for excavators and wheel loaders, hydraulic actuators.
The Hydrostar Motor is of a radical piston design that gives a Low Speed High Torque (LSHT) output. This very durable work horse is used in a wide variety of applications from fishing to forestry, mining to marine, recycling to shredders, conveyors and railroad equipment. Hydrostar’s radial piston design achieves extremely high torque at speeds as low as 3rpm. Pressurized oil exerts a force that is transmitted from the piston through the connecting rod to the camshaft. In the valve housing, a distributor valve rotates with the camshaft and directs the oil into the cylinders. For smooth rotation, multiple cylinders are under simultaneous pressure. The 2 displacement motor uses a shifting piston inside the cam to change displacement.
Mag motor is a travel motor design for crawler type machine. The motor is a case-rotation, high-torque motor which can be installed inside the crawler by connecting sprocket with motor case.
Piston motor has a variable displacement (two speed) swash plate and incorporates a brake valve and a mechanical brake needed for traveling MAG motor, combined with a case rotation type planetary gear speed reducer, offers a number of outstanding features, among which: high-pressure, high performance operation ensured by hydraulically balanced piston motor and many others.
Kayaba Co. has been producing many high-performance cylinders. It also researches and develops such key factors for cylinders, as seals, barrels, rods and plating techniques.
Mini-motion package (MMP) is a hydraulic linear actuator in which a DC motor, hydraulic pump, valve and cylinder are unified, since the electric motor and the hydraulics are of sealed type, there is no worry about oil leakage. This package is for the outdoor use. Its hydraulic circuit comprises: 1) electric motor; 2) gear pump; 3) relief valve; 4) pilot-operated check valve; 5) control valve; 6) manually releasable valve; 7) slow return valve; 8) cylinder; 9) oil tank.
