Present Continuous (future meaning)

Arrangements

I am doing something tomorrow = I have arranged to do something I have a plan to do someting. Example: I’m meeting Bill this evening.

Ex. 123. The Sanchez family are going on holiday to England next week. What are their arrangements? Complete Maria’s letter to her friends in Cambridge. Use the Present Continuous.

NB! We use the present simple for timetables, proggrammes, trains etc. Study the difference: I’m going to a concert this evening. (present continuous: usually for people) The concert starts at 7.30. (present simple: for proggrammes, trains etc.

Present simple (future meaning)

When, until, as soon, before

Examples: I’ll send you a postcard when I arrive in New York. When I arrive in New Yourk, I’ll send you a postcard.

First conditional

If you give me your address, I’ll write to you. If you don’t leave now, you’ll miss your train. OR I’ll write to you if you give me your address. You’ll miss your train if you don’t leave now.
