Настоящее учебно-методическое пособие предназначено для студентов всех специальностей факультета МЭО ИМС. Пособие составлено в соответствии с учебной программой по основному иностранному языку факультета МЭО НОУ ВПО «ИМС». Структурно пособие представляет собой сборник тем социальной направленности со списком активной лексики, грамматическим материалом, текстами по темам и заданиями к ним.

Предисловие
Данное пособие предназначено для работы на практических занятиях, а также для самостоятельной работы по уровню Pre-intermediate студентов всех специальностей факультета Международных экономических отношений.
При построении пособия авторы исходили из задачи формирования у студентов компетенций, соответствующих данному уровню владения иностранным языком с целью овладения языком как средством коммуникации в области социальной тематики.
Пособие состоит из четырех тем социального характера. Каждый модуль включает активную лексику темы, т.е. базовые лексические единицы, разнообразные упражнения для ее активизации, грамматический материал с заданиями, тексты социальной направленности, задания по переводу (при необходимости со словарем), обсуждению и реферированию прочитанного, задания по аудированию текстов монологического и диалогического характера, задания коммуникативного характера. При составлении пособия использовались следующие источники:

Методическая записка
Пособие предназначено для уровня Pre-Intermediate.
Пособие рассчитано на 17 учебных недель (102 академических часа), в течение которых преподаватель распределяет количество часов на усвоение активной лексики, работу с грамматическим материалом, текстами и аудирование в соответствии с календарно-тематическим планом.
При работе с пособием рекомендуется сохранять последовательность заданий, предложенную в пособии. Задания на усвоение и закрепление активной лексики и грамматического материала следует выполнять перед работой с текстовым материалом для снятия лексических и грамматических трудностей текстов. Тексты и задания к ним предназначены для развития навыков изучающего, ознакомительного и поискового видов чтения, развития навыков работы со словарями, формирования навыков перевода на родной язык, реферирования, а также служат базой для совершенствования навыков говорения. Текстам следует уделять пристальное внимание. После проработки у студентов не должно оставаться вопросов ни по содержанию текста, ни по лексической и грамматической составляющим. Перед подготовкой реферирования рекомендуется обсудить основную идею и основные положения текста.
По окончании изучения темы пройденный материал обобщается и закрепляется в виде дискуссий и презентаций.
