Незалежне телебачення
Ай-Ті-Сі регулює дві телевізійні служби – Канал 3 та Канал 4, що доповнюють один одного та фінансуються переважно за рахунок реклами. Програми каналу 3 готуються 15 регіональними власниками ліцензій, а ще одна має додаткову ліцензію на запровадження національної ранкової програми. Ліцензії для каналу 3 надаються по тендеру найкращому кандидату, який забезпечуватиме належну якість, на термін 10 років. Планується фінансування національного наземного телевізійного каналу – Канал-5 - за рахунок реклами, передплати або спонсорства.
Незалежне радіо
Незалежні радіокомпанії працюють за ліцензією Агентства Ради та фінансуються переважно за рахунок реклами. У Великобританії є три незалежні національні радіослужби : Классік ФМ, що передає, головним чином, класичну музику, Верджін 1215, яка транслює рок-музику, та Ток Радіо ЮК, що забезпечує переважно мовні передачі.
У Великобританії працює також близько 180 регіональних незалежних радіостанцій. Ці станції передають новини місцевого характеру, інформаційні, музичні, спортивні , розважальні та освітні передачі.
