Unit 14 How to Accessorize an Outfit
An outfit is about more than just the items hanging in your closet. You're actually not completely dressed until you accessorize your outfit. Accessories polish off your look and make your clothes look even more flattering on your body. The key to finishing off an outfit with accessories is doing it the right way.
You have to choose appropriate accessories and pay special attention to the color, texture and feel of your outfit. Any accessories you choose should match accordingly. Also, professional accessories you would wear to work are different from accessories you might wear for a night out on the town.
You should pack accessories that will take you from daytime to evening. You can go from the office, university to dinner without changing your clothes. But you'll still look refreshed and polished by simply changing out your accessories.
You may add a sense of colour. Outfits that are mostly one colour can really stand out when you add another colour into the mix. You can use colourful jewelry, a silk scarf, a belt or anything else that you're interested in. It's best that the colour you choose complements your skin tone.
When you go shopping purchase accessories that are versatile. Accessories are a great way to make your wardrobe look trendy, without spending a ton of money on new clothes. You can also use the same accessory for several outfits, giving you more just for your money.
