Unit 10 What Makes Great Clothes Great
Each and every person has the opportunity to look great and feel great.
Whatever sized wardrobe you own and whatever great clothes you possess, there is one essential ingredient that makes your choice of clothes a truly great choice of clothes!
Your wardrobe may be filled with the most expensive, beautiful clothes or it may be filled with carefully bought second hand clothes it just doesn't matter. You may see any number of people wearing the same clothes but what sets them apart is the unique personal ingredient that each person brings to the mix.
You can cover all the bases when choosing clothes. You can make sure that your clothes have the right fit that they're the right colour and style, or even the right brand, but the key to making clothes great boils down to one thing: confidence.
So what makes great clothes great? Well great clothes are only as great as the person that is wearing them; they just need the missing ingredient. And what is the missing ingredient? Well the missing ingredient is you.
Unit 11 Basic Steps to Success
Does the label make the clothes? The answer is only if you feel like you are on a red carpet revealing who designed your gown. The reality is that if you are an average person, it is much more important that you look your best in a style that is appropriate for your lifestyle and body type than it is to have the latest label.
By keeping some basic principles in mind, you can look great all of the time. Know your body typeNone of us is perfect so know your measurements and shape. Think about arm, leg and torso length and shoulder, hip, waist and high shape and width.
Evaluate your overall body shape Be realisticThis works for all body types. Wear clothing that fit properly. Squeezing into a smaller size does not make you smaller. It makes you look like you have gained weight and didn't buy clothing that is the right size. Don't buy what you wish you looked good in, but what really does compliment you.
Just because they make it in your size...does not mean you should buy it and wear it.
Fashion is only fashionable if you look attractive in it, not because a celebrity is wearing it or it was in all of fashion magazines.
Know your colorsBlack is not everyone's best friend. Colors sold in the stores in a particular season may not be yours. Regardless of which method you use to determine the right colors for you, it must be done
Think before you buyUnless you are buying a new base piece, don't buy an item unless you already have three things in your wardrobe with which you can wear it.
Unit 12 Colours and Character
Look at the colours you wear most often and see what they reveal about you.
If you wearredyou are impulsive, excitable and energetic. You are ambitious and like things to happen quickly when you want them to do so. You like to be the best in everything you do.
If you likeyellowyou have an interesting and stimulating personality. You like to be active and involved in whatever is going on. Lively and vital, you can cope well with life’s problems.
If you prefergreenyou are a cautious person and not inclined to trust others easily. You are an observer in life, but do not wish to get involved more than you have to. A quiet life suits you best. You are benevolent, humanistic and service-orientated.
If you wear lightblueyou are creative, perceptive and sensitive. You have a good imagination and practical approach to life. But if you love dark blue you are intelligent, self-reliant and have a great depth of feeling.
Whitecontains all the other colours in the spectrum, showing that you have a positive, well-balanced and optimistic personality.
If you weargreyyou are very much an individual. Many people may get the impression you are self-sufficient as you have excellent self-control and prefer to remain uninvolved.
Brownclothing suggests an honest, down-to-earth person who likes a structured supported lifestyle. Brown is the colour of Mother Earth.
You are strong-willed, opinionated and disciplined if you wear black. You may be too inflexible and too independent. Watch out that these are not defence tactics. You may really lack confidence in yourself.
