2.7. Четкие рисунки на белой бумаге или кальке прилагаются отдельно. На обороте рисунков следует указать фамилии авторов, номер рисунка, а в тексте рукописи на полях — место соответствующего рисунка (простым ка­ рандашом). Формат рисунка должен обеспечивать ясность передачи всех деталей. Полутоновые фотографии представляются на белой глянцевой бу­ маге (ксерокопии не принимаются). Не рекомендуется приводить в виде ри­ сунков данные, которые могут быть кратко отображены в таблице или тек­ сте.

Для рисунков, выполненных с использованием компьютера, необходимо представить графические файлы (см. п. 3.2).

2.8.Все физические величины рекомендуется приводить в международ­ ной системе СИ.

2.9.Химические и физико-математические символы в тексте должны быть набраны на компьютере или ясно и четко вписаны от руки черными чернилами либо тушью. Следует избегать громоздких математических обо­ значений. Уравнения обязательно должны печататься с красной строки, но­ мер уравнения ставится у правого края страницы. Нумеровать следует лишь те формулы и уравнения, на которые даются ссылки в тексте.

2.10.Греческие буквы следует подчеркнуть красным карандашом. Если в формуле или тексте для обозначения используются буквы русского алфави­ та, то необходимо подчеркнуть их простым карандашом снизу прямой скоб­ кой и на полях рукописи дать их расшифровку. Латинские заглавные буквы подчеркнуть простым карандашом двумя черточками снизу (K,S), строч­

ные буквы — двумя черточками сверху (k,s). Математические символы, а также химические элементы необходимо отмечать карандашом квадратной скобкой снизу. Элементы, которые должны быть набраны полужирным шрифтом, нужно подчеркнуть простым карандашом (А, у, N), а на полях на­ против написать п/ж.

2.11.Таблицы (обязательно с поясняющим заголовком) следует печатать через два интервала. В них не должно быть пустых граф, столбцов, строк, а также нерасшифрованных сокращений. Возле обозначения величин необхо­ димо указывать их размерность.

2.12.Все страницы рукописи, включая таблицы, список литературы и подписи к рисункам, следует пронумеровать. Каждая таблица должна быть озаглавлена. Повторение одних и тех же данных в тексте, таблицах и на ри­ сунках не допускается.

2.13.Уравнения, схемы, таблицы и рисунки должны быть пронумерованы строго в порядке их упоминания в тексте.

2.14.Цитируемая в статье литература приводится в общем списке в кон­ це статьи в порядке упоминания в тексте. Ссылки на литературу в тексте статьи отмечаются порядковым номером работы, заключенным в квадрат­ ные скобки, например [5]. Примеры библиографического описания в списке литературы:

3. Электронная версия статьи

Представляется одновременно с рукописью на дискете, компакт-диске или по электронной почте. Файлы должны быть названы с использованием только латинских букв.

3.1.Текст, включая таблицы, должен быть подготовлен в текстовом ре­ дакторе Microsoft Word for Windows.

3.2.Графики, диаграммы и схемы должны быть представлены в чер­ но-белом варианте (black and white bitmap) в формате TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) с разрешением 600 dpi или в формате Microsoft Excel или Corel Draw.

Фотографии, цветные (true-color 24-bit) или черно-белые (grayscale 8-bit), должны быть представлены в формате TIFF или JPG с разрешением 300 dpi.

3.3.Не следует вставлять графические файлы в текст. Каждый рисунок должен быть записан отдельным файлом.

Соблюдение требований, представленных в настоящих “Правилах...”, ускорит выход принятой статьи в печать.

NOTES FOR CONTRIBUTORS

1.General

1.1.The scientificjournal MEKHANIKA KOMPOZITNYKH MATERIALOV is a bimonthly periodical covering results of original experimental and theoretical investigations on the properties and behavior of composite materials, matrices, and fibers.

Particular attention is focused on the following problems:

-failure and fatigue of composite materials (their types and cause, long-term strength, kinetics of failure at all its stages, mechanism of failure of contact regions between composite components, calculation methods and technology for manufacturing materials with optimum characteristics of failure resistance);

-methods of optimum design of composite materials and structures;

-prediction of long-term properties;

-aging problems and nondestructive testing;

-mechanical aspects of technology;

-composites in civil engineering and infrastructure;

-mechanics of nanocomposites.

1.2.Two copies of the manuscript, both signed by all of the authors, and its identical electronic version should be submitted. The names and initials of the author(s) and the title in Russian and English with no abbreviations should be given at the beginning of the manuscript. Apart from the basic text, the paper should contain: abstracts and keywords in Russian and English, full name of the institution where the investigation has been carried out, and conclusions. The manuscript should be supplied by information on the authors (full name, place of work, position, academic degree and status, home address, e-mail, fax and phone) with indication of the person for correspondence.

1.3. The date of submission of a paper is the date the publisher receives all of the above-listed materials.

1.4.The copyright of papers published in the journal “Mechanics of Composite Materials’VMEKHANIKA KOMPOZITNYKH MATERIALOV is transferred to the publisher.

1.5. Manuscripts are not returned. All the articles will be refereed. The Editorial Board reserves the right to make amendments in the manuscript according to the guidelines given. The request of the Editorial Board to improve a paper does not mean that the latter is accepted to publication: after improvement, it will again be considered by the Editorial Board.

1.6. The proofs received by the author(s) should be corrected and returned no later than in a day after reception. The author has to indicate misprints and check formulas, figures, and tables. No other corrections are allowed.

1.7. Authors will receive 20 copies of reprints of the paper in Russian and one in English. At a request of authors, an electronic version of the paper (in Russian)

in the PDF format can be sent.

2. Requirements to Manuscripts

The journal MEKHANIKA KOMPOZITNYKH MATERIALOV is published in Russian. Simultaneously, it is translated into English (Mechanics of Composite Materials).

2.1.Manuscripts should be submitted in literary Russian and/or English. Authors should pay special attention to the style, grammar, and orthography of the manuscript. Impersonal form of presentation is recommended.

2.2.PAPERS should be compact, accurately written out, and carefully edited, so that to facilitate the understanding of the material. The Editorial Board reserves the right to abbreviate the articles, irrespective of their volume.

2.3.The title of the paper should reflect the subject of investigation in a precise compact form. It should not be similar to the title of a monograph. Word combinations “To the question...”, “On the problem...”,etc., should be avoided. In its optimum variant, the title should include the basic keywords of the study.

2.4.ABSTRACT is a concise summary of the paper content with basic actual information and conclusions. Attention should be concentrated on the new results. The abstract should begin with a summary of the essence of the study. The title should not be repeated in the text. It is advised to avoid phrases “...the author of the article considers...” etc. The abstract should not contain descriptions of the data published earlier and well-known statements and formulas. The text of the abstract should include the following: the name(s) of author(s), keywords, subject, character and purpose of the study, investigation methods, and conclusions. The body of the text is determined by the content of the article, the amount of information, and its scientific value and should not exceed one page.

2.5.The text of the paper should be printed double spaced (without blots and

inserts) on white paper of standard size (format A 4,210 x 297 mm) with 3-cm left margins. A page should not contain more than 30 lines with 60-65 symbols per line. It is advised to use a printer with large and clear fonts (12-13 body-size).

2.6. Clear FIGURES are submitted on separate sheets of white or tracing paper. The name(s) of the author(s) and figure numbers should be indicated on the back of the figures, and the place of the corresponding figure should be marked in pencil in the margins of the manuscript. The format of the figure should provide the clearness of all details. Half-tint photographs are to be made on white glossy paper (Xerox copies are not accepted). It is not recommended to give in the form of figures the data which can be briefly presented in table or the text.

For computer-made figures, graphic files must be presented (see It. 3.1).

2.7.SI UNITS are preferred.

2.8.Chemical, physical, and mathematical symbols should be computer printed or clearly handwritten in black or Indian ink. It is advised to avoid bulky mathematical designations. Equations must be indented. If the formulas are cited

in the text, they should be numbered, with the numbers given in parentheses in the right margin.

2.9. Greek symbols should be underlined in red. Russian letters in formulas or the text should be underlined in pencil below the main line by square brackets and clearly explained in the margins. Latin capital letters are to be underlined twice in

pencil (K,S), while small letters should carry double lines above them (k,s).

Mathematical symbols and chemical elements are to be marked in pencil by square brackets below the main line. Elements to be printed in boldface should be underlined in pencil (A, y, N).

2.10.TABLES (obligatorily with brief and clear titles) should be typed double spaced. They should not contain empty columns, rows, and unexplained abbreviations. The symbols of quantities should be followed by their dimensions.

2.11.All pages of the manuscript, including tables, references, and figure captions, should be numbered. Each table should be typed on a separate sheet and entitled. The authors are requested to avoid duplication of information in the text, tables, and figures.

2.12.Equations, diagrams, tables, and figures should be numbered strictly in the order they are cited in the text.

2.13.The literature is presented at the end of the article in the REFERENCE LIST, in the quotation order in the text. The references should be marked in the text by a serial number in square brackets, for example [5]. Use the style of the examples given below.

3. Electronic Version of the Article

Electronic version is submitted simultaneously with the manuscript on a diskette, CD, or by e-mail.

3.1.The text, including tables, should be prepared in the text editor Microsoft Word for Windows.

3.2.Graphs, diagrams, and schemes should be submitted in a black-and-white variant (black and white bitmap) in the TIFF format (Tagged Image File Format) with a resolution of 600 dpi or in Microsoft Excel, or Corel Draw formats.

Photographs, color (true-color 24-bit) or black-and-white (grayscale 8-bit), should be submitted in TIFF or JPG formats with a resolution of 300 dpi.

3.3.The graphic files should not be inserted in the text. Each figure should be saved as a separate file.

Observance of the above-mentioned requirements will speed up the publication of an accepted article.
