Request to Visit a Publication Plant

71 Park Lane Avenue

New York 13, NY

October 29, 2009

The Meredith Publishing Company

1716 Broadway

New York, NY

Gentlemen

A group of Russian students of Miss Florence Dawes’ English classes at Hunter College is making a study of present-day newspapers and magazines. We are particularly interested in visiting several publication plants in New York to give us a better understanding of the way modern newspapers and magazines are produced.

Would it be possible to arrange a tour through your plant sometime within the next three weeks? There would be fifteen students and Miss Dawes. We could come any day after 3.00 p.m.

Very truly yours,

Vera Stepanova

In this position, I created, planned, and implemented many student activities on and off campus. I helped the Lead Director design an entire 'Release Stress Before Exams' field day activity. We worked together to make sure all props and games were up to par and would attract many students. I also held the financial matters of buying prizes and other miscellaneous recreational items. The event was held once a semester, but I spent the entire semester planning.

In this field, meeting new and different people is my job. I enjoy speaking and interacting with children, as well as adults. It is a good feeling to know I am helping another to make their vacation experience pleasant. I very comfortable in all situations and take pride in my understanding of others.

I consider myself to be very organized, and I am always looking for new ways to speed up my work, while also making sure all of my information is accurate and efficient. I always have a to-do list by my side, and it has proved to be very beneficial. Not only for me, but also my employers.

My technical skills are above average. In addition to using drawing tools for designing structures, I have also used small hand tools to perform maintenance on a variety of recreational equipment.

I am familiar with the Windows operating system and Apple Mac word processing programs. I have worked with many ride creation programs and in my leisure time come up with different ideas and structures for recreational facilities. I always consult the internet to find the latest and greatest in tourism attractions.

I am an avid reader and writer. I don't have much time for anything else. Having a good book to read or something to write about is the perfect hobby. I have been writing since adolescence and as a college student I helped the Arts and Letters department with writing content for a variety of pamphlets and brochures.

Other skills I possess are protection and fighting skills. I am a 4th degree black belt and have been awarded numerous trophies and plaques for my skills. Currently, I am taking a few courses, as I don't want to take a break until I have completed the entire process. I am also performing research on other popular fighting techniques.

Letter of Complaint Respecting a Damaged Radio Set

15 Cambridge House

86th Street, W. New York

New York

December 3, 2009

Jones-Smith Company

1234 Wilson Street

Ann arbor, Michigan

Gentlemen,

You recently shipped me on order a Model BK radio set. Unfortunately it seems to have been damaged in shipment so that the dial needle will turn a little way. One of the knobs seems to be pushed in, and there is a scratch on the panel. It seems necessary to return this instrument to the factory to be repaired, as other trouble might develop later on.

If you will act promptly you will do me a real favor, as I am planning to gibe this radio set to my friend as Christmas present.

Very truly yours,

Robert Leslie
