Daily noon report

Daily (performance report) messages have been developed to serve as the tool to transfer all required information from the ships to the Company.

Instruction books, blueprints and diagrams

C/E is responsible for keeping document control of the following:

- Ship’s Drawing and plans.

- Instruction Books and Maintenance /Operation Manuals.

- Engine department’s SMS documentation and relevant records.

UMS Alarm Log

Under the responsibility of the C/E, each noon at 12:00 LT the alarm log print-outs shall be filed in the UMS Alarm Log Folder. These files shall be safely maintained on board and should be presented to Flag/Class Surveyors upon request. Relevant records should be retained onboard for at least two years and then destroyed.

Oil Record Book Part I.

To comply with MARPOL 73/78 mandatory requirements all Company ships must maintain flag approved Oil Record Book Part I.

It should be stressed that the Oil Record Book is regularly inspected by Flag/Port State Authorities and any deficiencies found may be considered as serious administrative and possible criminal offenses. The Chief Engineer is responsible for proper recording of respective activities. Oil Record Book Part I contain useful instructions on how various entries are recorded. To assist and further clarify requirements the following instructions are highlighted:

- All entries should be made in English languages.

- Errors should never be erased or covered by correcting fluid. In case of error, word(s) to be corrected should be crossed out but remain readable.

- For the overboard discharge of bilge water which is accumulated in machinery spaces Code “D” (non-automated discharge) is recommended to be used. It means that the overboard discharge take place through the 15 PPM Oily Water Separator (OWS) which is equipped with automatic stopping device and the operation is carried out under the supervision of the responsible Engineer. All items concerning code "D" must be filled correctly by entering the quantity, start and stop time and the method of discharge or disposal which should be 15.2 or 15.3 (Reception facilities-to identify port) or 15.4 (reception).

- Provisions of Code "H" (Bunkering of fuel and lubricating oil(s) in bulk) must be fully completed in every case of bunkering.

- The Code "C" refers to the collection and disposal of oil residues (sludges).
