Первый трубопровод в нашей стране был построен в 1876 г. Он транспортировал сырую нефть с промыслов Балахани в Баку. 6. Электронные вычислительные машины используются для ускорения календарных графиков приема и поставок нефтепродуктов.

1. The use of pipelines helps to lessen congestion on inland waterways, railroads and highways. 2. Electronic computers are used to speed up scheduling of product intake and delivery. 3. The functions of pipeline in the oil and natural gas industries are: to transport crude oil or natural gas and to carry refined products. 4. To compete with conventional transport multi-product pipelines generally need to transport over 500 000 – 1 000 000 tons a year. 5. At present oil companies must transport more products to more places and as quickly as possible. 6. A wide range of products may be carried by pipelines. 7. To reduce contamination a proper order of product batches is necessary. 8 Some specialized types of pipelines are used for moving aviation fuels or depots to airports.
