Commentary
Market - ринок: під терміном "ринок" мають на увазі яку - або струнку структуру, що забезпечує нормальну взаємодію продавців і покупців. У широкому розумінні ринок означає визначений спосіб організації економічного життя, характерними ознаками якої є: самостійність учасників економічного процесу, комерційний характер їхньої взаємодії, суперництво (конкуренція) господарських суб'єктів, формування економічних пропорцій під впливом динаміки цін і конкурентної боротьби, ціни, що складаються на основі попиту та пропозиції.
Monopoly - монополія: ринок, на якому діє єдиний виробник або продавець. Монополія при наявності безлічі покупців вважається неефективної, оскільки корисливі інтереси штовхають монополіста робити менше і продавати по більш високій ціні. У результаті монополіст одержує чистий економічний прибуток, що відбиває його привілейоване положення. Уряди звичайно намагаються бороти з монополіями, ліквідуючи, регулюючи або націоналізуючи них.
Duopoly - дуополія: ринок, на якому існують тільки два виробники або продавця даного товару або послуги і безліч покупців. На практиці прибутку, що можуть бути отримані в результаті такої форми недосконалої конкуренції, звичайно менше тих, котрі були б отримані, якби два постачальники злилися й утворили монополію. Однак вони більше прибутків, чим при зробленій конкуренції, що примушує до калькуляції собівартості по прямих витратах.
Oligopoly - олігополія: ринок, на якому відносно невелике число продавців обслуговує безліч покупців. Кожен продавець може контролювати свої ціни до визначеного рівня, оскільки на його доходи впливає поводження конкурентів. Проте, кожний з них може впливати на ринкову ціну, збільшуючи обсяги виробництва й одержуючи за рахунок цього більш високі прибутки. Олігополія є характерною рисою реального світу. Дослідження показали, що в розвитих країнах ринки виявляють тенденцію ставати олігополічними.
