6.1. Type I – Real Present

Exercise 325. Translate the sentences into Russian.

1. If you have enough time tomorrow, I’ll come and see you.

2. I’ll give her your love if I see her.

3. If it’s fine tomorrow, I’m going to paint the windows.

4. I’ll take the job unless the pay is too low.

5. I’ve bought a chicken in case your mother stays to lunch.

6. If you finish work early, we’ll go for a walk.

7. If you have finished your coffee, we can pay the bill.

8. If you post the invitations today, they will arrive on time.

9. If you work hard, you will succeed.

10. Unless you reserve a ticket, you won’t get a seat.

11. What if it rains, will you still go for a picnic with him?

12. Oil floats if you pour it on water.

13. Unless you work harder, you’re not going to pass examination.

14. If you’re ill, see a doctor!

6.2. Type II – Unreal Present

Exercise 329. Translate the sentences into Russian.

1. If you stopped smoking, you’d probably feel healthier.

2. If I knew her name, I would tell you.

3. If I were a bird, I could fly.

4. We bought some more food in case Tom came.

5. Would you mind if I came round about seven tomorrow?

6. It would be nice if you helped me a bit with the housework.

7. If I had money, I would travel round the world.

8. What would you do if you lost your job?

9. If that was Mary, why didn’t she stop and say hello?

10. If I were you, I wouldn’t buy that coat.

11. If I were you, I would take an umbrella.

12. She’d be perfectly happy if she had a car.

13. We rang the bell again in case they hadn’t heard the first time.

14. If I were you, I’d get that car serviced.

15. If you didn’t do much maths at school, you would find economics difficult.

16. Tom would travel if he had more money.

Exercise 330. Make conditional sentences (unreal present).

Exercise 335. Translate into English.
