Exercise 105. Translate into Russian and comment on the use of the Future Progressive Tense.

1. This time on Friday I will be flying to London.

2. Professor Asher will be giving another lecture at the same time next week.

3. Pete will be fixing his car the whole morning.

4. Bye. I’ll be seeing you next week.

5. You’ll be getting a lot of pleasure watching this film.

6. Be careful. They’ll be watching you all the time.

7. I’ll be going to the city centre later. Can I get you anything?

8. Good luck with the exam. We’ll be thinking of you.

9. – Will you be passing the post office when you go out? – Yes, why?

10. Don’t worry. You’ll be having a fascinating holiday the whole summer.

Exercise 106. Make the following sentences interrogative and then negative.

1. It’ll be getting dark in an hour or so.

2. You’ll recognize her when you see her. She’ll be wearing a yellow hat.

3. Stella will be watching TV all day long again.

4. When the taxi comes they’ll still be packing, I think.

5. They’ll be having a wonderful time.

6. Tomorrow she’ll be reading a book the whole night.

7. We’ll be sailing around the islands this time next month.

8. I’ll be having lunch with Sam tomorrow as usual.

Exercise 107. Ask questions to the following sentences beginning with the words in brackets.

1. They will be staying at home all day long tomorrow. (Why?)

2. My sister will be waiting for you at the station. (When?)

3. They will be listening to my story and wondering. (Why?)

4. I expect Marc will be telling the same story all over again. (Why?)

5. Night after night he’ll be sitting in that empty room all alone (What for?).

6. Next week from Monday to Friday John will be spending a lot of time doing his project. (Where?)

7. They will be having dinner tomorrow at six. (Who with?)

8. I will be working at six o’clock tomorrow. (What?)

Exercise 108. Use the Future Continuous for each situation.

1. This time next month I (have rest) in Florida.

2. She (wait) for you when you come out.

3. I (see) you tomorrow?

4. ‘Why don’t you ever go out?’ ‘If I’m out for long, my child (cry).’

5. We (land) in a few minutes.

6. ‘He will arrive at 10.30.’ ‘OK, I (expect) him.’

7. When you (wear) your new dress?

8. He doesn’t want to retire. I think he still (work) when he is eighty.

Exercise 109. Make future continuous questions to ask somebody very politely.

Exercise 110. Use the best tense (Future Simple or Future Continuous).

1. He has come home late today. So he can’t go out: he (watch) football match after dinner.

2. Today is Sunday and it does not rain. We (have) tea out in the garden.

4. The weather is warm today. We (have) a walk out in the garden.

5. I’m leaving now, but I suppose I (see) you in the evening.
