2. Identify sentences in British (be) and American English (ae) among the following. Translate them.

I doubt that she should say such things. 5. The doctor suggested that I see a heart specialist. 6. He advised that we try the new treatment. 7. They demanded that an explanation should be given at once. 8. Brown insisted that the Smiths return the money immediately. 9. The nurse insisted that the patient take the medicine as instructed by the doctor. 10. We requested that the speaker should touch upon the progress in modern linguistics. 11. They demanded that the workers have higher wages. 12. He ordered that the action be taken immediately. 13. She insisted that we hire a porter to help us with our suitcases. 14. With the sudden change of the weather the guide ordered that the tourists should return to the camp. 15. We suggested that the lecturer should give a talk on Wednesday.

3. Each of the following is incorrect. Correct the sentences transforming them into formal ones (be) and (ae).

1. I insist that you will translate the article. 2. The visitors insisted that the guide will show them all the exhibits of the museum. 3. They ordered that the books will be sent by the post. 4. We recommend that the brothers will read the book. 5. The official requested that the travellers will fill in a special form. 6. Collin advised that Nick will go into details. 7. The manager ordered that everybody will leave the hall during the break. 8. The doctor demanded that absolute silence will be kept during the operation. 9. John suggested that they will see this method in practice first. 10. We were recommended that everybody will read the book. 11. It is requested that all the library books will be returned. 12. It was suggested that a committee will be set up.

4. Complete the second sentence so that it has the same meaning as the first one, using the word in bold. Do not change the word in bold.
