London has many open spaces but Hyde Park is the largest green area. It is very popular with Londoners and tourists because it is so close to the centre, next to Marble Arch.

There are many things to do in Hyde park. You can hire a boat on the Serpentine Lake, cycle or roller-skate along one of the special paths, play tennis or go bowling. It is also possible to go horseriding – there is a four-mile long track called Rotten Row.

A very famous area is Speaker’s Corner. Here, anyone can speak publicly on any subject they want. There is also an art gallery near the lake. If you want to relax, you can always find a deckchair, sit down and read a newspaper or simply watch the world go by.
