Цель пособия — совершенствование речевых умений у студентов на иностранном
языке по основным видам речевой деятельности в рамках компетентностного подхода
и систематизация умений студентов осуществлять межкультурную иноязычную
коммуникацию, а также развитие личностных качеств и общего научного потенциала
студентов.
Пособие состоит из 4 модулей, каждый из которых включает в себя следующие аспекты
учебной деятельности: обсуждение, чтение, аудирование, грамматические задания,
упражнения коммуникативного характера на развитие умений говорения, письменные задания
и пр. Учебное пособие содержит задания для самостоятельной работы студентов.
Настоящее учебное пособие предназначено для студентов гуманитарных факультетов,
изучающих иностранный язык (английский) в 1 и 2 семестрах. Уровень профессионального
образования — бакалавриат. Учебное пособие подразумевает средний и продвинутый уровни
владения английским языком (В1, В2).

МЕТОДИЧЕСКАЯ ЗАПИСКА
Настоящее учебное пособие предназначено для студентов гуманитарного
профиля (уровень высшего образования – бакалавриат) и направлено на формирование
необходимых компетенций иноязычной коммуникации. Данное пособие
рекомендовано студентам со средним и продвинутым уровнем владения английским
языком (В1, В2).
Целью пособия является совершенствование и систематизация умений
обучающихся осуществлять межкультурную иноязычную коммуникацию в основных
видах речевой деятельности — чтении, говорении, аудировании и письме в рамках
некоторых тем гуманитарного направления.
Актуальность создания учебного пособия обусловлена необходимостью
оптимизации процесса обучения иностранному языку студентов неязыковых
направлений подготовки, развития лингвистических, профессиональных
и коммуникативных компетенций студентов для использования иностранного языка
как инструмента взаимодействия в диалоге культур современного мира.
Учебное пособие состоит из 4 тематических модулей, каждый из которых
предлагает систему заданий на совершенствование видов речевой иноязычной
деятельности. Каждый модуль предлагает студентам вопросы для дискуссии, тексты
по теме раздела, которые сопровождаются послетекстовыми заданиями для отработки
и закрепления лексико-грамматических умений, упражнения на аудирование
и говорение, которые способствуют обогащению словарного запаса студентов,
формируют умение правильного понимания иноязычной речи. Авторы учебного
пособия предлагают трансформационные упражнения с целью овладения основными
приемами перевода с родного языка на иностранный. Имеются задания для
самостоятельной работы студентов.
В учебном пособии представлены оригинальные тексты аутентичного характера,
из современных периодических изданий (ведущие зарубежные газеты и журналы),
сайтов, отечественных и зарубежных учебных пособий, а также грамматических
сборников упражнений.
Учебное пособие предлагает студентам задания на формирование у студентов
умения работать с презентациями и докладами по теме, вести дискуссию на
английском языке и свободно общаться с аудиторией.
Может быть рекомендовано для магистрантов для совершенствования общего
научного потенциала.

MODERN PEOPLE’S LIFESTYLE
Today, a lot of people sit throughout whole days in offices in front of their PCs and
forget how important it is to do regular physical exercises. In fact, they have to be
involved in everyone’s daily routine. Apart from doing exercises, it is important to

mind what you eat during your day. The modern lifestyle of coach potatoes or fanatic
office workers, which many people choose, will certainly bring about a lot of negative
results. Despite the fact that everyone is aware of the bad consequences
their lifestyle can bring, they do not stop leading them and eating junk food.
People in favor of active lifestyle know that healthy food can be really tasty. In fact,
the taste of junk food seems terrible to them. That is the right life position, to which all
the people have to strive. In addition, junk food can cause a lot of diseases. The high
fat content in these food items can result in obesity and will definitely shorten your
life.
If you want to live longer, the first thing that you have to do is to get accustomed to
healthy food and forget all the addresses of fast food restaurants. The other one is to
stop making up excuses for not doing physical exercises. It doesn’t mean that you
should
have long daily work-outs. All you have to do is to allocate 20 to 30 minutes
a day for some simple, but extremely useful moves of your body. Thus, all you have to
do…
I think, happiness lies in living a plain life within own means. If you follow the
dictum cut you coat according to your cloth and live within your own means, you
will not need to trouble your head to get a loan of money or to pay back the loan.
Besides, you will not be a parasite or a dependant on others and your free mind will
bring you immense happiness. Happiness lies not only in the life of plain living but
also in the life of high thinking. So, a saying goes on plain living and high thinking.
If you live a life of high thinking the trifling worldly troubles will not disturb your
mind. With your high mindedness and broad heartedness you will be able to excuse
your small complaints and thereby you will be free from a lot of troubles. Highmindedness depends on plain living. If you do not be plain in your living you will fall
in constant wants and you will become a self-seeker which will lead to low
mindedness and meanness. So, in order to live a happy life, you should follow the
dictum Plain living and high-thinking. Health of body and peace of mind are necessary
