Participation in the United Nations (Foreign policy)
The final evidence of Kazakhstan’s recognition in the world community as an equal member became its entry into the United Nations. On march 2, 1992 at the 46th session of the General Assembly of the UN, the resolution on Kazakhstan’s becoming the UN member has been unanimously approved.
The position of our state in the UN is formed on the basis of consideration of interests of Kazakhstan on all complexes of the issues considered by the UN. Thus, the special attention is paid to cooperation strengthening with the UN in the field of economy, environment, social development, progressive development of the international law, observance of human rights, in the field of struggle against the organized crime and drug business.
For ten years of membership in the international community of states, Kazakhstan has managed to prove the conclusive place among them and moreover, to occupy a rather appreciable position.
Kazakhstan actively participates practically in all the fields of UN actively among which we should list: maintenance of the international peace;
assistance to steady development; environmental protection; human rights; social protection of the family; women and children; international law; space development; disarmament and the international security.
