Antonyms and synonyms

An antonym is a word which means the opposite or nearly the opposite of another word. Find antonyms in the box for each of the words in italics in order to complete the sentences below. Compare your answers with a partner's. Example: The weather in May was dry, but in June it was wet.

Exercise 3. Find antonyms

  • Find the pairs of synonyms and remember them:

  • Find the pairs of antonyms and remember them:
