Types of houses:
terraced house - a long row of terraces standing all together with each house having its own door;
semi-detached house - two houses attached on one side to one another;
detached house - a separate house standing on its own land.
Pubs - local institutions where the local people meet to rest, eat, talk, listen to music and play games such as darts or billiards. The most popular drink is beer or ale. Children under 16 are not allowed in the pubs. Most pubs have interesting names ("The White Heart", "The Red Lion", etc.).
The tradition of having a fireplace at home (mostly because of the rotten weather).
The tradition of afternoon tea.
