  1. Practising sentence patterns

A. Time expressions with when Phrases or clauses with when can begin or end a sentence. When the time clause begins the sentence, a comma is used to separate it from the main idea.

Examples

When I got home, I sent an e-mail.

I sent an e-mail when I got home.

Write your own sentences with time clauses that tell when something happened:

B. The Pronoun one In formal writing, the author may not want to address the reader directly with an informal you or an imperative form. Instead, one is often used to refer to a nonspecific person (meaning people in general).

Change these sentences from second person to third person. Use one and a singular verb.
