For-to – Infinitive Construction
Состоит из существительного или местоимения, выражающего исполнителя действия, выраженного инфинитивом и имеет перед собой предлог “for”. Может выполнять в предложении различные функции.
Examples:

It’s bad for him to smoke.– Плохо, что он курит (subj.).

For me to drive the car will be dangerous.– Мне будет опасно водить машину (subj.).

The old man waited for the door to open.– Пожилой человек ждал, когда откроется дверь (object).

I have a book for you to read on the train.– У меня есть книга, которую ты можешь почитать в поезде (attribute).

The tendency in these songs is for the refrain to occupy a more prominent place.– Тенденция в этих песнях такова, что припев занимает более значительное место (predicative).

I’ll send you some views of our city for you to show them to your wife and daughter.– Я вышлю тебе несколько фотографий нашего города, чтобы ты показал их жене и дочери (adv mod of purpose).

He spoke loud enough for you to hear.– Он говорил достаточно громко для того, чтобы ты его услышал (adv. mod. of result).
