Пособие содержит пять полных вариантов олимпиадных заданий по английскому языку
для обучающихся 5-6 классов. Каждый вариант состоит из заданий по аудированию,
чтению, говорению, письму, лексике и грамматике. Материалы сборника могут быть
использованы как для самостоятельной подготовки к олимпиадам по английскому языку,
так и для подготовки под руководством педагога. Книга содержит ключи, критерии
оценивания устной и письменной речи.

Пояснительная записка
В современном быстроразвивающемся мире, когда требования к
выпускникам школ меняются так стремительно, что порой педагогам трудно
успевать за ними, одно остается неизменным – умение сочетать
интеллектуальные способности с нестандартным подходом к их реализации.
Олимпиада – один из способов научить ребенка нестандартным решениям
стандартизированных задач.
С одной стороны, олимпиада – форма проверки знаний обучающихся, а
с другой – демонстрация возможностей и перспектив успешным и
потенциально успешным ученикам. Для тех, кто ежегодно принимает
участие в олимпиадах – это очередная ступень в совершенствовании
интеллектуальных способностей. Участвующие впервые получают стимул
для роста и реализации своего потенциала.
За успехом каждого обучающегося стоит колоссальный труд не только
самого ребенка, но и его учителя, наставника, тьютора. Если для ребенка
олимпиада – возможность реализовать свой интеллектуальный потенциал, то
для учителя – это, во-первых, шанс сравнить результаты своей работы с
результатами коллег; а, во-вторых, это источник вдохновения для подготовки
будущих победителей олимпиад.
Для достижения данных целей учителю порой не хватает литературных
источников, в которых предлагаются разнообразные задания на все виды
речевой деятельности и аспекты языка, соответствующие требованиям
современных олимпиад.
Предлагаемое пособие составлено с учетом всех особенностей и
неотъемлемых компонентов формата олимпиадных заданий. Оно
ориентировано на оказание методической поддержки и практической
помощи обучающимся и педагогам, осуществляющим подготовку к
олимпиадам, в том числе к Всероссийской олимпиаде школьников по
английскому языку. Для успешной подготовки к олимпиадам в пособии
представлены задания по всем видам речевой деятельности: аудированию,
чтению, говорению, письму. Кроме того, в пособии имеются задания
лингвострановедческого характера, которые направлены на проверку знаний,

обучающихся по данному аспекту. Ко всем заданиям с развернутым ответом
(письмо, говорение) прилагаются критерии оценивания.
Пособие предназначено, главным образом, для подготовки обучающихся
5-6 классов школ, гимназий и лицеев к олимпиадам и конкурсам по
английскому языку, однако оно может быть также использовано и на более
раннем этапе для самостоятельной подготовки. Пособие может оказать
помощь учителям, которые найдут в нем необходимый материал для своей
работы. Надеемся, что это пособие поможет обучающимся в повышении
мотивации к изучению английского языка и учителям в раскрытии
потенциала школьников по предмету «Иностранный язык».

Task 1. Listen to the text and decide if the statements are TRUE according to

1. Sonya was into smelling flowers.

with her habit.

The thankful Leopard
It was in late autumn. The weather was cold and windy, and some animals of
the circus caught cold.
One of the new leopards fell ill. (1)
“We will lose that cat,” said the owner of the circus.
“Well, we must help it,” said his wife.
“Help that animal? (2)”.
“But it is sick and we must help it. I will try anyway,” said the woman.

Next day the wife of the owner of the circus went into the leopard’s cage with

The sick leopard roared. The woman got closer. When the terrible jaws
opened, she poured her medicine down the red throat.

Siccatee, the squirrel
Siccatee rose with the Sun and worked very hard. She gathered food for the

When January was over, the young squirrels often went away and did not
