Учебно-методическое пособие предназначено для студентов 1-2 курсов специальности 23.05.06 «Строительство железных дорог, мостов и транспортных тоннелей» разных форм обучения, владеющих английским языком на уровне не ниже А2. Основная цель пособия – формирование коммуникативных умений в ситуациях общекультурного и профессионально-ориентированного общения.

Пособие включает в себя 14 модулей, которые касаются основных направлений в области инженерного дела. Текстовым материалом пособия служат отрывки из аутентичных текстов и статей по специальности. Объем учебного времени, необходимого для освоения материала, зависит от уровня подготовки обучающихся, и составляет не менее 96 аудиторных часов.

Предисловие

Данное учебно-методическое пособие предназначено для студентов 1-2 курсов специальности 23.05.06 «Строительство железных дорог, мостов и транспортных тоннелей» разных форм обучения, а также может быть использовано при обучении студентов других специальностей инженерного профиля.

Пособие включает 14 тематических модулей, обеспечивающих раскрытие темы. В структуру модуля включены вопросы и короткие ситуационные задания, которые раскрывают фоновые знания студентов по предлагаемой теме, фонетические упражнения, один текст для развития навыков профессионально-ориентированного референтного и информативного чтения, задания на понимание текста, а также лексические упражнения.

Текстовым материалом пособия служат отрывки из аутентичных интернет текстов и статей по специальности, подвергнутых адаптации в учебных целях. Лексические и коммуникативные упражнения способствуют формированию и развитию необходимых компетенций в общении на иностранном языке, а также расширяют общекультурный кругозор студентов. Стилистически разнообразные по своему содержанию эти задания предоставляют широкую возможность организации самостоятельной и творческой работы обучающихся, тем самым стимулируя когнитивную и коммуникативную профессионально-ориентированную деятельность с использованием изучаемого языка.

Пособие может быть использовано как во время аудиторной работы, так и для внеаудиторной самостоятельной работы.

Module 1. LET`S GET ACQUAINTED

II. Give a short talk about somebody`s personality. Choose one variant A or B and use the plan:

Describe a celebrity you know about. You should say:

LIKES AND DISLIKES

I am Carmen and I am 17 years old. I come from Spain. Today I would like to tell you about the things that I like and

I don’t like.

Actually, it is not easy because there are a lot of things that I like. Firstly, I really like listening to music. I like different types of music but I am crazy about electronic music. My favourite DJ is Calvin Harris. Secondly, I like watching films. I am fond of sitcoms like Big Bang Theory and action films. My favourite actor is Daniel Craig. I don`t like historical films.

Certainly, I can`t imagine my life without my friends. Thus, my third liking is hanging out with my friends.

I also like sea food. My friends and I often visit restaurants where we can eat mussels, squids and shrimps. When it comes to fruit. I really adore grapes, but pears are not my cup of tea.

As you can see, I am keen on English. I love making new friends and learning new things with the help of English. But I can`t stand learning grammar rules.

That`s all I want to tell you about the things I like and dislike.

STUDENT MOBILITY

Traditionally, academic mobility is determined as the ability of students and staff to travel abroad for both teaching and training. It has always been considered as a key element of Internationalization. Moreover, academic mobility continues to be understood as one of the main tools for improving the quality of training in higher education. The official website of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation declares that "The Russian Federation promotes the development of cooperation between Russian and foreign educational and scientific organizations, international academic mobility of students." One of the goals of the development of academic mobility is called "improving the efficiency and competitiveness of the Russian education system".
