Second edition is complemented with practical tasks. Formulations of key stylistic concepts were modified and supplemented. Descriptive theoretical material was extended and the examples were added. The new chapter “Set Expressions” was added into the second edition.

INTRODUCTION
The main goal of the tutorial is to give students main chapters of stylistics as the separate section of the theory of the English language.
The tutorial covers such questions as stylistic differentiation of the lexical composition of the English language, classification and functions of stylistic devices, peculiarities of functional styles and fundamentals of stylistic analysis of the text.
The tutorial includes 9 lectures on stylistics of modern English, questions to lectures and unique practical tests. After long approbation period, second edition was complemented with practical tasks. Formulations of key stylistic concepts were modified and supplemented. Descriptive theoretical material was extended and the examples were added. The new chapter “Set Expressions” was added into the second edition.
