(3)Salling Reporting Requirements for all Vessels NOT requiring aPilot: Any vessel over 20m in length and not requiring aPilot must report to Port Control on VHF or by telephone at the following times:

(a)Conventional Vessels:

(i)20 mins before sailing (Vessels must advise any circumstances which might affect the manoeuvring capability of the vessel. and also the number of any Exemption Certificate) and are advised to keep a listening watch on VHF Ch 14 from this time until the vessel is secure or clear of the channel

(ii)5 mins before saifing

(iii)When ready to sail (To obtain permission to leave the berlh)

(iv)When clear of the channel

(b)High Speed Craft (as defined In the International Code of Safety for High Speed Craft):

(i)20 mins beiore sailing (Vessels must advise any circumstances which might affect the manoeuvring capability of the vessel. and also the number of any Exemption Certificate) and are advised to keep a listening watch on VHF Ch 14 from this time until the vessel is secure or clear of the channel

(ii)5 mins before sailing

(iii)When ready 10 sail (To obtain permission to leave the berth)

(iv)When clear of the channel

(4)Arrival Reporting Requirements for Vessels REQUIRING a Pilot: Any vessel requiring a Pilot must, in accordance with the Pilotage Directions. report to the Harbour Authority on VHF Ch 14 (or telephone or fax) at the following times:

(a)12h before arrival at Pilot boarding position

(b)2h before arrival at Pilot boarding position

(5)Sailing or Movement Reporting ReqUirements for Vessets REQUIRING a Pilot Any vessel requiring a Pilot must. in accordance with the Pilotage Directions. report to the Harbour Authority on VHF Ch 14 (or telephone or fax) at the following

limes:

(a)On arrival (The vessef shall give the Harbour Authorily (usually via the Pilol) the best estimate 01 their departure time)

(b)2h belore Pilot required (Vessel musl also advise if the Pilol required time changes)

(6)Tug Services:

(a)Vessels requiring tug services in Ramsgate New Port (Ferry Terminal) or the Royal Harbour are requested to give a minimum 1h notice by telephone. lax or VHF Ch 14 (Ramsgate Port Control)

(b)VHF Ch 68 shall be used by vessels when communicating with tugs within the port

(c)Whilst working on VHF Ch 68. a listening watch shall be kepi on VHF Ch 14 as far as is practicabie

PORT SIGNAL UGHTS:

(t) Mariners are advised that lhe International Vessel Traffic Signals situaled above the Port Control Building on the Royal Harbour East Pier (51 °19'·66N1°25'·37E)have the following characteristics:

(a)Royal Harbour Seaward Signals • three vertical red or green lights facing seawards

(b)Royal Harbour Signals·three vertical red or green lights facing inlo the Royal Harbour

(c)Ferry Terminal Movement Signal·an all round flashing orange light

(2)The Royal Harbour Signals appiy only to vessels bound to and from the Ramsgate Royat Harbour.

(3)When the Royal Harbour Seaward Signals lights are red. such vessels may not, withoul specific permission on VHF from the Port Control, enter the harbour limils from seaward.

(4)When the Royal Harbour Signals lights are red, such vessels may not. without specific permission on VHF from \he Port Conlrol, leave the Royal Harbour.

(5)In each case. a green signal indicates that vessels may proceed into the harbour

limils or oul of the Royal Harbour as applicable.

(6) These signals are augmented by the Ferry Terminal Movement Signal which will be displayed when a ferry movement is in progress. Whilst the signal is displayed, no vessel other than the ferry moving may, without specific permission, on VHF. from the Port Control:

(a)Enter the harbour limits from seaward

(b)Leave the Royal Harbour

(e)Move from or to any berth or place in the Western Ferry Terminal
