Підтема: Повернення до школи

Мета: Повторити й активізувати ЛО теми. Формувати навички діалогічного мовлення. Навчати спілкування за темою. Удосконалювати техніку читання. Практивувати учнів у пісьмі. Виховувати культуру взаємовідносин.

Обладнання: Підручник, картки для роботи в парах, для індивідуальної роботи.

Хід уроку

І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення

1. Привітання. Поздоровлення учнів з початком нового навчального року.

T: Hello, my dear boys and girls! I’m very glad to see you after long summer holidays! Now you are the pupils of the eighth form. I can see you’ve become quite adult! I expect you are serious and responsible, too. And I hope you are looking forward to starting your English course.

2. Ознайомлення з цілями та завданнями навчання у 8 класі.

T: This year we are going to learn a lot of interesting topics. We’ll discuss music, books and media. We’ll speak about your friends, hobbies and teenagers’ way of life. We’ll get to know about schools in Ukraine and Britain. We’ll also travel around Ukraine and Britain, and learn more about these countries.

3. Знайомство з підручником.

T: Now let’s look through the textbook. Do you like the way your textbook is designed? Is the design of this textbook different from the one you had last year? Who is the author of this textbook? How many units are there? Is there a vocabulary/grammar reference/ list of irregular verbs/dictionary? What maps can you see in your textbook?

4. Повідомлення теми та мети уроку.

T: Today we will speak about summer holidays. We are going to revise key words on the topic and learn some new words. We’ll read the text about Susan’s summer journey and discuss your summer holidays. We’ll also discuss things to do in summer.

5. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу.

2. Подання тексту для читання «Susan’s Summer Journey».

1) Етап підготовки до читання.

Бесіда в режимі T→P1→P2→P3.

T: Do you have any relatives who live in a village? Do you often visit them? Is their village large or small? What are the houses built of there? Is there a river or a lake? Is life in the village slow or fast moving?

2) Етап читання й перевірки розуміння змісту тексту.

Учні ланцюжком читають текст, поданий на картках, потім по черзі визначають, правильні наведені після тексту твердження чи помилкові.

SUSAN’S SUMMER JOURNEY

Last summer Susan went to stay in the village where her grandmother was born. Susan had never been there before, so when she arrived at the station she was surprised how small the place was. As in many villages in the north of England all the houses were built of stone. Running through the village was the River Tyne. The village had a church which was built in the Middle Ages. Although the population is only about 500 people, the village has a cricket team and many people play football too. But still life in the village doesn’t change much as the time passes, and maybe it is as placeful and quiet now as it was many years ago.
