a/one trillion a/one billion

a/one quadrillion a/one thousand billion(s)
1 000 000 000 000 000 000 = 1018_____________________________________
a/one quintillion a/one trillion
Vulgar fractions decimal fractions
1/8 an/one eighth 0.125 (nought) point one two five
1/4 a/one quarter 0.25 (nought) point two five
1/3 a/one third 0.33 (nought) point three three
1/2 a/one half 0.5 (nought) point five
3/4 three quarters 0.75 (nought) point seven five
Notes: 1. In the spoken forms of vulgar fractions, the versions and a half/quarter/third are preferred to and one half/quarter/third whether the measurement is approximate or precise. With more obviously precise fractions like 1/8, 1/16, and one eighth/sixteenth is normal. Complex fractions like 3/462, 20/83 are spoken as three over four-six-two; twenty over eighty-three, especially in mathematical expressions, e.g. twenty-two over seven for 22/7.
2. When speaking ordinary numbers we can use zero, nought or oh for the number 0; zero is the most common US usage and the most technical or precise form, oh is the least technical or precise. In using decimals, to say nought point five for 0.5 is a more precise usage than point five.
3. In most continental European countries a comma is used in place of the GB/US decimal point. Thus, 6.014 is written 6,014 in France. A space is used to separate off the thousands in numbers larger than 9999, e.g. 10 000 or 875 380. GB/US usage can also have a comma in this place, e.g. 7,500,000. This comma is replaced by a full point in continental European countries, e.g. 7.500.000. Thus 23,500.75 (GB/US) will be written 23.500,75 in France and in Russia.

Dear friends,
With the Organization becoming a larger family, and new Council members coming into power, the cultural strategy is being reconsidered. Either it can fade, or if public interest pushes them, the Organization could become a truly significant driver for cultural development.
Whether or not you are a member, the Organization seeks your opinions. The more feedback they get, the more seriously they will take cultural development. The questionnaire for voicing your opinion is at the site http//2h.org.
Other languages are available too.
Please fill at least the short version of the questionnaire. Make your opinion count and invite others to participate.

Mr Douglas Parson
General Manager
Parsons Co Ltd
14 Bracken Hill
Manchester
Great Britain M50 8FD
CONFIDENTIAL
Mr Douglas Parson
General Manager
Parsons Co Ltd
14 Bracken Hill
Manchester
Great Britain M50 8FD
Dear Mr Smith
Dear James
Dear Miss Hastings
Dear Margareth
Dear Sirs.
Пример
Dear Sirs
Dear Sir or Madam
Dear Mr Jackson
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE — 23 September 2009
Dear Sir Dear Sirs Dear Madam Dear Sir or Madam |
Yours faithfully |
Dear Mr Jackson Dear Mrs Tang Dear Jane Dear Tom |
Yours sincerely |
Yours faithfully PATRICK CLARK Director |
Yours sincerely CAROLINE JAFFERSON (Mrs) General Manager |
Yours faithfully
Martha Jason
for PATRICK CLARK
Chairman
Yours sincerely
JINA TOMPSON (Mrs)
Sales Manager
for PATRICK CLARK
Chairman
Enc
Copy Edgar Mason, Managing Director
Joanna Yung, secretary
Andrew Wilson, Accountant
bcc Mr Jeffrey Dowson, CEO

Re: Order # 445446
To whom it may concern:
On September 3, I ordered 2 keyboards, 1 screen and 1 tower processor for a total of $ 480 plus shipping $ 30. This brings the final total to $ 510.
Enclosed is a copy of your receipt, which I received with my order. Today I got a bill for $ 590 for 3 keyboards, 1 screen and 1 tower processor. Since I didn’t order 3 keyboards and I never received 3 keyboards I am sending a check for the original amount, $ 510 for the merchandise I did receive. Please correct your billing. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Sandra Sand

Dear Ms. Gang,
On behalf of the Program, I would like to extend our sincere appreciation for your significant contribution as the Secretary of the Working Group. As the first Secretary for a new and important international initiative, you labored competently and effectively with few guidelines and procedures. This was in no small part a reflection of the high-level of organizational skills and personal dedication you brought to this task.
The Working Group is composed of a diverse group of personalities and cultures with personal, professional and national agendas. However, we believe your professionalism along with your patience and perseverance clearly enhanced the level of teamwork, cooperation, and communication within the Working Group. It is clear to us that Working Group’s accomplishments the last couple of years were far greater because of your facilitation and advocacy.
As you leave the Program for new challenges ahead, we in the Department gratefully acknowledge your special contribution and your dedication to the highest standards of professionalism.
Sincerely yours,
Jane Horn
National Representative

Working Group Members
Dear Jane, Emma, John and George,
I am sorry to confirm to you that, as from 25 April, I am no longer working for the Working Group (at least not officially), as I have been invited to join the colleagues of the European Centre.
You will very soon receive the official announcement of my departure, together with the last Annual Meeting’s report.
Attached to this mail you will find a draft of the Working Group’s new communication strategy. Although I have managed to keep two working hours per day to finish some urgent questions for the Working Group, I should be grateful if you could send your comments on this draft to Elsa. She will collect and forward them to the appropriate person. A new colleague, Ms. Brigitte Renault has joined the Working Group’s team and she will contact you very soon.
I cannot finish this last mail without thanking you for all your support and these two years of exciting cooperation. I am sure that you will continue to look after the Working Group and I wish you all the best for the future.
With my very best regards,
Evette
