1) People differ from animals in many ways,

and among them is their ability to create pieces

of art. 2) Since the earliest times people have

tried to put themselves on record: they left rock

paintings, handed down legends and fairy tales,

and built huge constructions. 3) After a written

language appeared, people could write down

their stories, thus we can read their literary

works now. 4) We may not know the authors ofsome works but their art still lives. 5) Art plays

a large part in making our lives infinitely rich.

6) Imagine, just for a minute, a world without

art! 7) Art affects us, makes us laugh or cry,

presents us with a whole range of emotions.

8) Art gives us an understanding that we are

creative and special. 9) On the other hand, art

is such a large part of our everyday lives that

we may hardly even stop thinking about it.

10) All the things around us were designed by

somebody. 11) Even our clothes are pieces of

art! 12) Art changes every day, so nobody can

really define what it is. 13) And of course art

is subjective, and means something different

to every single person on earth. 14) It is true,

and our perception of pieces of art is largely

based on our personality. 15) Somebody said

that art is form and content. 16) It means

that all art consists of these two things, and

our ideas and opinion also depend on how we

perceive them.

17) I like paintings and sculptures. 18) I admire

the talent of the creators of such forms

maybe because I cannot understand how they

implement their thoughts and vision of reality

in such perfect forms.

19) When I think about my favourite form

of art, it comes to my mind that now I’m keen

on photography. 20) It’s really fantastic when

you see a photo which expresses all the feelings

of the person who took it! 21) It may even seem

that you can smell the air, touch the land and

feel all the emotions of the people in a photo.

22) It is amazing that real masterpieces can be

taken with a simple hand-held camera! 23) I

really do not know why but I like black-andwhite

photography most. 24) It seems to me

that it is more sincere and touching.

1) Once I read a wise statement and it

impressed me greatly. 2) It said that a friend

is a person who knows you best of all but loves

you anyway. 3) I think it’s an exact definition.

4) There aren’t completely perfect people and

everybody has weak sides. 5) These weak

sides don’t matter to true friends. 6) But it is

very hard to find such true friends. 7) There

were some people I thought to be my best

friends, but in fact I was disappointed with

them and felt very upset. 8) Fortunately, I

have found my true friend. 9) We are completely

different in tempers but we have very

similar outlooks on life and it is not because

we help each other in studying or have fun

together that we are friends. 10) She is the

only person whom I can tell everything and

who will understand me. 11) Friendship is

very significant for every person. 12) A friend

is your support and it’s important for everybody

to feel someone needs you. 13) You will 1

never feel lonely then. 14) You know there is

somebody who will always be glad to see and

hear you. 15) In my opinion, a person can’t

be really happy without friends.
