Ancient Rome was an urban civilization based on the city of Rome, which lasted for about 800 years. (1) Traditionally founded as a kingdom in 753 BC, Rome became a republic in 510 BC, following the (2) expulsion of its last Etruscan king, with power concentrated solely (3) in patricians’ hands.
